Looking ahead, CIBC analyst Brad Reback anticipates that Ariba will accelerate its sales force expansion and expand sales and marketing program spend going forward.

So genau weiss ich das auch nicht, habe ich geantwortet - denn eigenlicht ist es absurd, dass man sich mit diesem Pimpelpampel näher beschäftigt.

Ein Grund ist sicher, dass ich das Abzocken von Kleinanlegern von einer nichtsnutzigen schamrotzenden Mafia nicht mag. Das ist die emotionale Komponente - denn eigentlich könnte mir das völlig egal sein, was da passiert.

Aber dann habe ich nachgedacht, dass das doch etwas mit Internet Capital zu tun haben könnte. Deren Umsätze sind qulitätsmaßig meilenweit besser als der Pippi von Abacho. Aber trotzdem gelang es interessierten Kreisen beim Abacho-Kurs von 5,50 und einer Marktkapitalisierung von fast 60 Millionen bei einem Umsatz von drei Millionen ein Kurs-Umsatz-Verhältnis von 20 herbeizumanipulieren. Das ist eine der heftigsten Abzocken seit den Blütenzeiten des Neuen Marktes. Und da kommt man natürlich ins Vergleichen. Würden die anteiligen Umsätze von Internet Capital in Höhe von ca. 130 Millionen, die qualitätsmäßig denen von Abacho haushoch überlegen sind, auch mit dem Multiple von 20 bewertet, ergäbe sich ein Betrag von 2,6 Milliarden, was logischerweiser absurd ist. Zusammen mit der Nettocash von 170 Millionen wären wir gar bei 2,77 Millionen und somit einem Kurs von 70 Dollar pro Internet Capital-Aktie. Beim momentanen halbierten Abacho-Kurs läge bei vergleichsbarer Bewertung Internet Capital immer noch bei 35 Dollar - und da bei unendlich besserer Qualität der Umsätze.

Dies könnte vermutlich, nach einer eigenen Nabelschau, ein weiterer Grund neben der unendlichen Abzocke einer nicht unbekannten unappetitlichen Mafia für mein Posten gewesen sein.

Internet Capital ist gut über die Bühne gegangen, obwohl er wegen der kleinen Beteiligungsquote symbolisch wichtiger ist als in der Wirkung auf den  Kurs. Vor dem IPO lag die Beteiligung von Internet Capital bei 3%, wie hoch sie jetzt noch ist, weiss ich nicht, da offensichtlich alle neuen Aktien neu ausgegeben wurden.

Traffic.com reported a net loss of about $35 million on revenue of $32 million in the nine months ended Sept. 30, compared to a loss of $13 million and revenue of $31 million in the year-earlier period.

The latest period included a charge of $18.5 million for a legal settlement.

Taffic.com's pricing near the top of the range, with no discounts prior to the IPO, marks a positive move in W.R. Hambrecht's ongoing campaign to promote so-called Dutch auctions for companies seeking to go public.

Will Software-As-A-Service Grow Significantly in 2006? If So, What Apps Will Be Hot?


In the next five years, over 50 percent of the applications that are sold will be sold as a service. While enterprise software isn’t going to disappear, all the exciting developments are happening in the SaaS world, and small to medium sized businesses, as well as divisions within larger Fortune 500 enterprises, will adopt SaaS because it offers better functionality at a far lower cost and with less risk associated with deploying the application since you pay as you use it. Two types of applications will lead the charge. The first are the applications that were unaffordable before they became available on-demand. The second are the applications that simply weren’t available before in the perpetual licensed software model. –Treb Ryan, CEO of OpSource. THINKstrategies has found that enterprises of all sizes are rapidly adopting SaaS to overcome the hassles and costs of implementing traditional packaged applications. A recent THINKstrategies survey, conducted in conjunction with the Cutter Consortium, found that almost a third of the respondents are already using SaaS and another third are considering SaaS, with the vast majority expecting to adopt SaaS in 2006. The survey also found over 90 percent of the current SaaS users are satisfied with this new application delivery model, 86.5 percent expect to acquire additional SaaS offerings, and almost 92 percent would recommend SaaS solutions to others. Tier 1 Research sees SaaS gaining significant traction in 2006 across all sizes of companies as its value proposition resonates with firms who 1) do not want/cannot afford an IT staff; 2) require a rapid ROI (just about every company on the planet); 3) want predictive costs; 4) want to access the functionality any time, anywhere and 5) want to quickly ramp up new business functionality without having to engage consultants/integrators (plus worry free upgrades). Small companies who never dreamed of using software to manage their business can now sign up online with a credit card and begin using accounting, e-procurement, credit scores, HR, billing or process management functionality in 30 to 60 minutes. The impact to the market is huge! How much does one deadbeat client cost a small company–with eCredit you have credit checking capability at the click of a mouse. SaaS is providing small firms with access to business functionality that did not exist years ago, making their business more effective, profitable, and efficient. What we expect to see in 2006 are two trends. The first is the continued growth in SaaS adoption by small and mid sized companies (for the reasons noted above). The second is the broadening of functionality by SaaS providers who have established a beachhead in a particular function and strive to broaden their focus. The year 2006 will be the year of “going horizontal,” where SaaS companies broaden their functionality from a focus on CRM, moving to supply chain, accounting, payroll, billing & payment and scheduling. This trend began in 2005 and we are at the tip of the iceberg - SaaS providers like NetSuite, Unica [UNCA], Salesforce.com and SugarCRM are leading the charge to stretch their capabilities and deliver added functionality to their customers. NetSuite provides an entire suite of functionality from CRM to ERP to e-commerce and Unica through its acquisition of MarketSoft is broadening its marketing management functionality. Salesforce.com rolled out the AppExchange to broaden functionality for its users into ERP, Marketing, etc.., while SugarCRM is hinting at broadening its open source capabilities into ERP. –Michael Mankowski, Senior Vice President, Tier 1 Research Absolutely. Small companies and startups have limited budgets, fewer human resources, and typically, have less time to deploy applications due to their resource constraints. Software as a Service provides a lower cost of entry and typically requires less staff to implement because onsite installation and maintenance are nonexistent. Additionally, on-demand solutions take less time to deploy. SaaS is simply cheaper, faster and requires less human capital. I don’t believe SaaS success is application-specific. A solid software company that meets the needs of its customers has the opportunity to succeed by delivering its software as a service. I was an executive at software companies for almost 15 years before becoming a venture capitalist, and I have become a bit more conservative than others on predicting how fast a new technology is adopted. I am a big supporter of Software as a Service (SaaS), but I think it fights all the usual obstacles in gaining initial traction and then mass adoption by small business. I think 2006 will be a year of growth and experimentation, but not a watershed year for moving to "on-demand" software. Because most companies already have existing solutions, there is not the urgency to jump forward in most application areas. While there are some great new accounting systems (like Intacct) available in a SaaS delivery model, most small businesses are not terribly dissatisfied with QuickBooks or Great Plains as accounting systems.

I think we will see steady adoption rates, rising from virtually zero today, up to 10-15 percent over three years in logical areas like Sales Force Automation, Accounting, and even inventory/supply chain management. However, I think most small businesses will wait until they need a new package to evaluate and not be driven to a new package simply due to a SaaS delivery model. In 10 years, I think more basic apps will be delivered in a SaaS model than an "on premises" model. History tells us that market shifts start very slowly and then his some tipping point. I don't see that point for SMB SaaS in sight yet.

I suspect there will be significant growth across the board among small and entrepreneurial businesses in terms of SaaS services dealing with CRM. However, it's a mistake to think that one can significantly enhance business performance by merely investing in SaaS solutions. The savings that companies realize upfront by embracing a hosted solution (as opposed to an on-premises one) should be reinvested in business process enhancements, professional development and organizational change efforts.

Companies should not merely invest in hosted software and expect their sales force, for instance, to produce at a much higher level if they don't simultaneously invest to enhance the professional skills and capabilities of that sales force. Unfortunately, too many companies will merely pocket the savings and end up disappointed when real performance gains don't materialize.

In 2004, customers spent more than $4.2 billion worldwide on software delivered via SaaS. IDC expects customer spend to increase over the next five years at a 21% compound annual growth rate (CAGR), reaching $10.7 billion in 2009. A number of important trends will help fuel this adoption including the amount of SaaS offerings that become available to the marketplace resulting in more choice and flexibility for customers. SaaS has the potential to re-invigorate the single-digit growth software industry. IDC believes the midmarket in particular represents a source of opportunity for SaaS as it has provided an alternative to costly software acquisition and given access to many small and medium sized businesses that otherwise could not afford software.

In terms of where IDC is seeing adoption and interest occur in SaaS, there is CRM of course, in addition to collaborative applications, human capital management, content management, and enterprise resource management areas. In addition we are seeing adoption and interest in security software such as intrusion detection. Application areas that have appeared low in terms of adoption and interest, according to the adoption survey we conducted in 2005, include Web analytics, and product lifecycle management.

Gepriesene, mit dem was Internet Capital mit seinen Beteiligungen anstrebt. Zumindest überwiegend entsprechen sie diese nachstehenden Bedingungen. Neben dem enormen Aufholpotenzial hat Internet Capital somit auch noch enormes Zukunftspotenzial. Die beste Strategie ist nachwievor: Bei jeder Schwäche nachkaufen, Kostolanys Rat annehmen wenn man seine Zielmenge erreicht hat, Schlaftabletten einnehmen, aufwachen und reich bzw. zumindest reicher sein.

Hältst du die bis nach 2006 oder verkaufst du bis Jahresende und steigst wieder ein?

Das hängt von der Ausgestaltung der steuerlichen Regelungen ab, die wir noch nicht kennen. Kommt es nur zu einer Besteuerung der nach 2005 oder 2006 gekauften Aktien, bleibe ich drin.

Ob ich bei 20% Besteuerung drin bleibe, hängt vom Kursverlauf ab.

Da ich aber 20% auf Kursgewinne für eine absurde Regelung halte, da Kursgewinne schon mit 25% Körperschaftssteuer belegt sind, was letztendlich auf eine Besteuerung von 45% hinausliefe, hoffe ich, dass bei den Entscheidern nicht nur Schwachköpfe und Eroberer von Stammtischen sitzen. Allerdings hat sich hier eine unheilvolle Allianz aus CDU-Juristen, die von ökonomischen Dingen keine Ahnung hat und die Herrschaft über die Stammtische anpeilt, und bestimmten SPD-Kreisen, für die Gewinne immer unsozial sind, wie sie das bei den Falken gelernt haben, gebildet, die diesen Schwachsinn, der langfristig sehr viele Arbeitsplätze kosten wird, gebildet.

Vermutlich setzt sich eine Regelung durch, die private Hausgewinne mit 20% besteuert und Aktien mit 10%, da man hier aufgrund der Vorwegbesteuerung mit 25% Körperschaftssteuer für einbehaltene Gewinne das Halbeinkünfteverfahren installiert. In diesem Fall käme ich ins Grübeln bezügliche des Verkaufens, zumal ich in der Vergangenheit Verluste häufig vor Eintreten der Jahresfrist realisiert habe, während ich Gewinne immer laufen ließ. Dadruch habe ich ein paar Verlustvorträge, die ich hoffentlich dann noch einsetzen kann.

Bei dem von ICGCommerce beackerten Gebiet gehen die Meinungen über die Aussichten etwas auseinander. Während die Beobachter von Nelson Hall und erst kürzlich IDC optimistisch sind, kommen von Forrester eher bescheidene Ausblicke - alles sind Institute, die diesen Bereich beobachten begleiten. Das ist ein Kurs-Umsatz-Verhältnis von 13 für eine Ansammlung von Pippi - die Umsätze der Beteiligungen von Internet Capital sind meilenweit stärker qualitätshaltig. Bei Abacho wurden lediglich Umsatzgerüchte um eine Auktionsplattform in die Welt gesetzt - Konkretes gibt es dazu nicht. Würden beispielsweise die qualitätsmäßig wesentlich höherwertigen anteiligen Umsätze der Internet Capital-Beteiligungen von ca. 130 Millionen Dollar mit dem Wert 13 von Abacho angesetzt, lägen wir bei 1,69 Milliarden Dollar. Zusammen mit der Nettocash/Wertpapiere ergäbe sich ein Wert von 1,85 Milliarden. Verteilt auf 39 Millionen Aktien lägen wir dann in der Nähe von 50 Dollar - der momentane Kurs liegt bei 8. Nicht dass ich jetzt 50 Dollar als Kursziel angeben möchte - ich wollte nur die absurde Situation bei Internet Capital einerseits und bei Abacho andererseits aufzeigen.

Wie viele Mitarbeiter wird der Shortie haben?
Er hat doch sicher mal Urlaub oder ist krank,da braucht er doch Ersatz für sein jetzt schon sehr langes Kursdrücken.Auch das Zusammenarbeiten (Abstimmung)von Sell u.Buy,was immer sehr schnell vonstatten geht benötigt eigentlich mehr als nur eine Person.

denn ich bin mir inzwischen ziemlich sicher, dass wir es bei Internet Capital nicht mit reinen Shortsellern zu tun haben, sondern dass meine schon früher vertretene Long-Short-Strategie großer Anteilseigner zutrifft: Langfristig wird eingesammelt, kurzfristig wird auch einmal gegeben. Und das funktioniert eventuell sogar, wenn es mehr so einfältige Akteure gibt wie z.B. den Arnie vom comdirect-Board. Allerdings bin ich mir da nicht sicher - so viele Bekloppte gibt es nun weltweit auch wieder nicht.

Das ist zumindest beim Leerverkäufen verboten, aber schwer zu kontrollieren. Ob sie noch zusammenarbeiten oder nicht? Ich weiß es auch nicht. Oder: Wie arbeitet man zusammen, ohne dass man zusammenarbeitet (zumindest nicht offiziell).

Wenn man das so oft beobachtet wie ich,sieht man es deutlich.Die arbeiten auf der Käufer-und Verkäufer Seite.

war mit das "Dollste", was ich erlebt habe und spricht für einen beinharten "STRONG BUY".

Obwohl man heute bequem für 9.05 hätte verkaufen können, warf heute ein Verkäufer in den letzten drei Minuten sage und schreibe 160.000 Stück auf den Markt und erzielte dafür 8,96. Mit einer marktschonenderen Stratigie hätte er Stück ca. 5 Cent mehr erzielen können - immerhin ca fst 100.000 Dollar. Macht Euch darauf eben selbst Euren Rein - und kauft morgen was das Zeug hält, wenn er Ihr noch nicht nach Eurem Risikiprofil ausreichend investiert.

Und vergleicht solltet Ihr Eurem Opa und Eurer Oma und Eurem Enkel aus der 2. Klasse sagen, dass sie bald arm sind, wenn sie Abacho nicht schnellstens verkaufen. Was man mit dem Geld machen kann, könnt Ihr sicher weiter oben erkennen.

denn der Shortseller fährt logischerweise zum 15. eines Monats soweit wie möglich das Shortselling nach unten. Ihm ist bisher nicht gelungen, die seit 2005 hohen Leerverkaufsbestände nach unten zu fahren. Denn würde er das momentan tun, springt der Kurs sofort in die Zone von 12 bis 15.

von Internet Capital habe ich ja schon öfter angeführt. Man saugt sich zunächst erst einmal selber voll und kann daher stark steigende Kurse nicht gebrauchen. Ich gehe zwar nicht davon aus, dass man mit Shortsellern direkt unter einer Decke steckt und direkt mit ihnen zusammenarbeitet, denn ein Nachweis eines solchen Vorgehens würde in einem US-Knast landen, aber es gibt ja auch Formen des Zusammenwirkens, die stillschweigend erfolgen. Da hat die SEC oder der Herr Spitzer keine Chance - allerdings haben wir die Chance diese Wertpapiere noch billig zu erwerben.

Zumindest mir, weniger den Akteuren auf den US-Boards, fällt auf, dass zu der wohl umsatzstärksten Kernbeteiligungen mit den mit Abstand besten Aussichten beinhart geschwiegen wird. Denn würde man zu Credittrade, wo sie 30% halten, auch nur ein Wort über die Aussichten sagen, das nicht gelogen ist, würden die Kurse von Internet Capital sofort durch die Decke gehen.

Über das Marktumfeld können wie heute im Handelsblatt lesen:

Im Handelsblatt kann man heute unter der Überschrift "Eine Anlageklasse für sich" über die wichtigsten Kreditderivate, Credit Default Swaps, folgendes lesen:

"Der Markt

Credit Default Swaps (CDS) sind die bedeutendsten und liquidesten Kreditderivate. CDS machen Kreditrisiken handelbar - unabhängig von den Grunde liegenden Anleihen oder Krediten. Wer die Sicherung kauft, muss darüf eine Prämie bezahlen. Der Markt entstand in den 90er jahren und hat zum Teil pro Jahr Wachstumsraten von über 100 Prozent. Derzeit die weltweit CDS-Kontrakte über 12,4 Billionen Dollar am Markt."

Und noch eine Anmerkung von mir: Zum Beispiel hat das Volumen in letzten vier Jahren (vom Ende des ersten Halbjahrs 2001 bis zum Ende des zweiten Halbjahrs 2005) ca. verfünfzehnfacht.
