Canadian Solar will add another 500MW of module capacity next year, according to its CEO Shawn Qu.
In an interview with Bloomberg, Qu said the expansion was triggered in part by market growth in China but that emerging markets were playing their part too.
Qu listed India, Thailand, Chile, Brazil and Mexico as promising locations for solar development and acknowledged that work to develop project would become a growing part of the company’s business.
The additional module capacity will take the company’s total to 3.5GW. The company revealed plans to extend capacity to 3GW in February 2014.
