[ÂA¾í¦h]¡A[Green Tea]¡B[Lai Yi Tong]¡B[Uni-President 100], these brands of Uni-President (China) have been household names in the PRC's domestic beverages and instant noodle markets. Currently, the company owns 13 factories, more than 530 offices in Mainland China, and manufactures over 300 different products.

The company¡¦s juice drinks and instant noodle businesses accounted for 29.1% and 11.4% of the total market shares, respectively. In order to maintain the current market position, the company diversified sales channels, established independent sales teams for the beverages and instant noodle, further breakdowned the end target consumers, and provided a reasonable price with various tastes of products.

Beverage superior to instant noodle

The CAGR of China's beverage sales by volume achieved 14.8% from 2004 to 06. As of 06, the per capita consumption of beverages reached 25.2 liters, far lower than that in USA of 262 liters. Thus, the company captured the industry opportunity, vigorously developed beverage business and increased in the share in the total revenue. The proportion of beverage business accounted for 59%, 64.6%, 71.2% of the total revenue between 2004 and 06, respectively. We believe that, with the increase in the disposable income and the penetration of organized chains, the overall industry will continuously expand, and we believe the beverage business will be the main growth catalyst for the company.

Regarding the PRC beverage market, soft drinks accounted for half of the market shares. Among them, the juice drinks, tea, and carbonated drinks are the most representatives, accounted for 25.4%, 19.5%, and 17.8%, respectively. The company promptly focuses the high consumption of juice drinks, and occupies a leading position in the market. The company commanded 21.5% market share in 1H07 and dominated the first position in the market, far beyond Coca-Cola, Tingyi (322. HK), Huiyuan Juice(1886. HK) .

In the instant noodle business, the company slightly lagged behind to its peer Tingyi. In 1H07, by sales volume and revenue, the company represented 11.5% and 11.3% market share, respectively, lower 13.2 ppt and 17.4 ppt lower than these of Tingyi.
