PLANO, Texas, Feb. 5 /PRNewswire/ -- EDS (NYSE:EDS) today announced a new edition of E.store Xpress, an off-the-shelf tool to help merchants significantly reduce the time it takes to build e-commerce storefronts for the burgeoning online shopping market. As the engine to power one version of E.store Xpress, EDS selected Enfinity, the flagship e-business solution offered by Intershop Communications, Inc. (NASDAQ:ISHP; Neuer Markt: ISH).
Built on Unix and Intel platforms, the new edition of E.store Xpress complements the existing edition, launched at last year's Microsoft's Enterprise 2000 event. The previous edition includes Windows 2000, SQLServer 2000 and Commerce Server 2000.

EDS' E.store Xpress tool is aimed at the exploding market for electronic commerce. According to Jupiter Communications, U.S. online spending will grow from $23.1 billion in 2000 to $78 billion by 2003.
