LONDON/JOHANNESBURG, Dec 17 - South African gold producers Gold Fields and Harmony have started talks on a $6 billion hostile takeover battle that could lead to a friendly deal, sources said on Friday.
"I don't think they are going to come out after a one-day meeting with a blueprint (for a deal) and go public," he said, adding he did not know whether the talks would stretch into the weekend.
