AuGRID Completes R&D on Break Through Nanoparticle Synthesizer

HOUSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 22, 2004--AuGRID Corporation (OTCBB:AGRD) announces the completion of prototyping and testing of its Nanoparticle Synthesizer. This most recent success of AuGRID's R&D Team will be the conduit to profits as the initial fine tuning of the formula will aid in increasing agricultural productivity.

"Our patent pending Nanomaterial formula consists of small particles having large surface areas and enhanced chemical and biological reactivity, which figure prominently in fundamental science and technology as well as the transporting of nutrients in the hydrosphere, atmosphere, and biosphere," said Byron Ziegler, Director of AuGRID's R & D team. Nanoparticles have properties different than bulk powders. Not only are they some 10 to 1000 times more reactive than conventional powders, because their smaller size collectively gives them a much larger surface area, but they can be suspended in a slurry and pumped straight into the heart of an irrigation system like an industrial-scale hypodermic injection. Once there, the particles will flow along with the irrigation water to work directly where needed. The nanoparticles can be between 1 and 100 nanometers in diameter, which is about ten to a thousand times smaller than most bacteria; the tiny particles can actually slip in between soil particles and avoid getting trapped. "With our formula, the correct amount can be applied to the crops to prevent over-fertilization and damage to the environment. The formula alone will also offer assistance in water management and the control of the pH for the release of critical micronutrients that will give the following benefits: less fertilizer, healthier root systems, more resistance to disease and insects, increased microbial population for better soil health and plants will require less water," added Ziegler.
The term Nanoparticle is generally used to indicate particles with dimensions less than 100 nanometers (one nanometer is one billionth of a meter). For comparison, a human hair is about 50,000 nm in diameter, while a smoke particle is about 1,000 nm in diameter. The smallest Nanoparticle, only a few nanometers in diameter, contains only a few thousand atoms.
