Gazprom's FY21 Profit Skyrockets to $30 Billion on High Gas, Oil Prices

(MT Newswires) -- Gazprom (GAZP.ME) on Thursday posted a surge in profit and sales in the full year ended Dec. 31, 2021, amid higher gas and oil prices.
The Russian company's profit totaled 2.159 trillion rubles ($29.88 billion) in 2021, compared with 162.41 billion rubles in 2020.
Sales increased to 10.241 trillion rubles from 6.321 trillion rubles, with net sales of gas increasing 85% and refined products by 44%.
While not included in its filing, Reuters reported the same day that the Russian state-controlled company expects gas output in 2022 to fall 4%.
Moscow shares of the company were up 1% in late afternoon trade.
