   LONDON (AFX) - The US semiconductor and communications sector has been
upgraded to positive by Lehman Brothers, along with several key ratings in the
sector, dealers said.
   The broker hiked its sector rating to positive on the back of improving
order trends, low inventory levels at customers, and relatively conservative
estimates for second half of 2003 and 2004.
   Within the new note, Lehman Brothers also upped its ratings on Silicon
Laboratories, Marvel Technology, Agere Systems and Broadcom Corp to 'overweight'
from the previous 'equal weight'.
   No further details were immediately available.
