LONDON, April 11 (Reuters) - Ebookers.com EBKR.O EBOOy.F, Europe's leading online travel firm, said on Tuesday it had signed exclusive deals with several Sportal Internet sites, including the offical site for soccer club Paris St. Germain.
Ebookers said it signed a one-year agreement to be the travel partner for several websites run by online sports site operator Sportal, a Euro 2000 soccer championships sponsor.
From Tuesday, people in Britain, France, Germany and Sweden would be able to book discounted flights and accommodation via an ebookers.com link on local language Sportal sites, the company said in a statement.
British-based ebookers, listed last November on Nasdaq and Frankfurt's Neuer Markt, also said it would be the travel partner for the Paris St. Germain football club website, designed by Sportal.
Ebookers, which has made several acquisitions in recent months, currently operates in 10 countries around Europe and said it had negotiated discount airfares with 72 major airlines, and discounts with over 14,000 hotels worldwide.
Sportal is a private company that has raised more than $80 million in backing from investors including UK satellite TV group BSkyB BSY.L, UK venture capital firm 3i III.L, and Japanese investment bank Nomura 8604.T.
