ChannelDow pulls back, but gets key upside reversal off lower channel boundary. From prior commentary, "...The Dow closed the session lower today, but is currently holding above a key support level at 10,265, which we will watch closely tomorrow...Otherwise, an upside break through a clear short term upper trend line at 10,315, seen in the 15 Minute Chart, could make for another near-term rally..." The Dow broke through support early in the session today, but got a sharp upside reversal off the key lower channel boundary late in the day, as seen in the 60 Minute Chart. The upside move off 10,240 sparked a nice rally to the Close, eventually pushing the index into positive territory for a 24 point gain. The 60 Minute Chart shows the Dow continues to trend steadily higher within the current medium term uptrend. Look for the index to remain bullish within the boundaries of the channel, unless 10,250 is crossed to the downside. A downside break here could make for a steep decline. However, further strength is likely at this time, especially if the index break through 10,350. Short Term Dow Short term, the Dow has formed a tight range at the highs of the 5 Minute Chart from 10,305 to 10,323. Watch for a break from this range to determine early morning direction Monday. Medium Term Dow In the medium term, we entered the Dow Short at 10,241 this morning, but stopped out for a 20 point loss. We are now out of the market and will watch 10,250 down, and 10,350 up Monday; using 20 point stops. NASDAQ & S&P The NASDAQ led the day's strength today, as the index trended steadily higher throughout the session. The S&P rallied to the Close and each index looks to be continuing higher within the current uptrend. Look for continued strength, unless a break of the lower channel boundary occurs. * Summary The Dow ended the day higher today, but may be gearing up for another big move within the current overall uptrend. Look for continued strength within the boundaries of the bullish channel, unless a downside break from the channel occurs at 10,250. Thanks for listening, and Good luck in your trading!
