Lehman Names Agilent, Tellabs, 8 Others To Uncommon Values List

(NewsTraders.com)-- Lehman Brothers stepped up to the plate today with its annual roster of 10 uncommon values, a selection of 10 stocks
that are expected to excel over the next 12 months.

Lehman's 10 Uncommon Values 2000 list consists of Agilent Technologies (A), BEA Systems (BEAS), Cendant (CD), Gemstar International
(GMST), Hewlett-Packard (HWP), Juniper Networks (JNPR), Eli Lilly & Co. (LLY), Micron Technology (MU), Nortel Networks (NT) and Tellabs
(TLAB).

The companies were selected by Lehman's Investment Policy Committee; each stock was chosen because of its value relative to the
opportunity the brokerage firm sees over the next year.

Every year, the Investment Policy Committee reviews each analyst's best idea selection in order to arrive at the 10 selections.

This process, according to a company release, has been a fixture at Lehman for 51 years and has generated average returns of 16.92% versus
9.41% for the S&P 500.

                   Unternehmen führt den Rückgang auf Kapazitätsmängel zurück.

                   Die Experten werden dem Unternehmen vor, nicht verstanden zu haben, wie das
                   Geschäft funktioniere. Die Gesellschaft hätte Marktrends verschlafen und die
                   Entwicklungschancen nicht genutzt. Möglicherweise sei dies nur der Anfang.

                   Für die Jahre 2000 und 2001 revidieren die Analysten ihre Gewinnprognosen je
                   Aktie von 1,33 auf 1,10 Euro und von 2,00 auf 1,80 US-$ nach unten.

                   Der Technologie-Titel biete dem Investor lediglich eine durchschnittliche
                   Kursentwicklung. Das Kursziel setzen die Experten von 120 auf 50 US-$ herab.

                   Agilent Technologies Downgrade
                   Goldman Sachs


                   Die Analysten des Investmenthauses Goldman Sachs stufen die Aktie von
                   Agilent Technologies (WKN 929138) auf „Market Outperformer“ herab.
                   Gleichzeitig streichen die Experten den Wert von ihrer „Recommended for
                   Purchase“ -Liste.

                   Der Hersteller von Test- und Messgeräten habe die Investoren gewarnt, dass die
                   Erwartungen für die Gewinne im dritten Quartal deutlich verfehlt würden. Auch der
                   beim Umsatz seien enttäuschende Zahlen zu erwarten. Konkret könne mit einem
                   Ergebnis je Aktie von 0,18 bis 0,22 US-$ gerechnet werden. Die Gewinneinbußen
                   seien auf einen Rückgang der Geschäfte in der Sparte Gesundheitswesen und im
                   Bereich chemische Analyse, sowie der Komponentenknappheit zurückzuführen.

                   Der Aktienkurs sei nach der Bekanntgabe einer Gewinnwarnung um 34 Prozent
                   eingebrochen. Dem Anleger verspreche der NASDAQ-Titel lediglich eine
                   marktüberdurchschnittliche Entwicklung.

                   Agilent kaufen
                   Berliner Börsenbrief


                   Anleger sollten sich ein paar Aktien der Agilent Technologies Inc. (WKN 929138)
                   ins Depot legen, so die Aktienexperten vom Berliner Börsenbrief.

                   Der Spin-Off von Agilent sei abgeschlossen. In der vergangenen Woche habe
                   jeder Aktionär von Hewlett-Packard in Form einer Dividendenzahlung  für eine
                   HP-Aktie 0,3814 Aktien von Agilent ausbezahlt bekommen.

                   Agilent sei als Hersteller von Geräten zu Test- und Messzwecken unter anderem
                   für den Halbleiterbereich als einer der Top-Favoriten diese Jahres zu sehen und
                   gehe nach der Ausgliederung nun mehr oder weniger eigene Wege.

                   Bei dem sehr profitablen Unternehmen werde sich bald eine entscheidende
                   Kursbewegung zeigen und daher werde die Aktie weiterhin zum Kauf empfohlen,
                   so das Researchteam.

                   Agilent Techn. Kursziel 130 Euro
                   Morgan Stanley Dean Witter


                   Die Analysten des Investmenthauses Morgan Stanley Dean Witter sehen für die
                   Aktie von Agilent Technologies (WKN 929138) ein geringeres Kurspotential.

                   Nach Bekanntgabe der Ergebnisse für das zweite Quartal habe der Kurs deutlich
                   nachgelassen, da sich einige Investoren von den präsentierten Zahlen enttäuscht
                   zeigten. Der Gewinn je Aktie sei von 0,41 auf 0,36 Euro gesunken. Die Aufträge
                   an Hewlett Packard hätten alleine 156 Mio. US-$, nach 190 Mio. US-$ im
                   Vorjahr, zum Gesamtumsatz beigetragen. Gleichzeitig habe das Unternehmen
                   seine Umsatzschätzung für das Gesamtjahr von 10,0 auf 10,3 Mrd. US-$ erhöht.

                   Aufgrund der vorgelegten Zahlen haben die Experten ihr Kursziel von 175 auf 130
                   US-$ reduziert.

                   Unternehmen von brancheninternen Schwankung unabhängig machen. So sei
                   man unter anderem an der Entwicklung von Produkten für die
                   Kornmunikationstechnik und für die Halbleitertechnologie beteiligt und konnte
                   sich hiermit in den letzten Jahren eine hochinteressante Pipeline aufbauen.

                   Die gesamte Division Biotechnologic/Medizintcchnik nehme mittlerweile innerhalb
                   des Konzerns einen wichtigen Stellenwert ein und gehöre zu den
                   wachstumsstärksten Abteilungen. Schwerpunkte in der Entwicklung von neuen
                   Produkten für die Biotechnologie/Medizintechnik seien im speziellen die
                   Ultraschalldiagnostik und die Kardiologie sowie die allgemeine Labortechnik.

                   Forschungspartner von Agilent sei Caliper Technologies; beide Unternehmen
                   hatten kürzlich ein hochauflösendes DNA-Analysesystem namens DNA-500
                   LabChip Kit für die automatisierte Größen- und Konzentrationsbestimmung von
                   DNA-Fragmenten für die Wirkstoffforschung auf den Markt gebracht. Für die
                   Entwicklung von neuartigen Medikamenten seien solche Chips unbedingte
                   Voraussetzung.

                   Agilent Technologies sei ein weltweit tätiges Unternehmen. So gab man erst
                   Anfang Juni die Auslagerung der Produktion einiger Geräte für die Division
                   Biotechnologie/Medizin (Defibrillatoren und Ultraschallgeräte nach Singapur
                   bekannt. Mit diesem Schritt wolle Agilent neben den bereits bestehende drei
                   Fabriken die Präsenz im asiatischen

                   1999 habe Agilent Technologies einen Gesamtumsatz in Höhe von 8,3 Milliarden
                   US-Dollar erwirtschaftet. Der Gewinn je Aktie solle mit 1,35 US-Dollar deutlich
                   über dem des Vorjahresergebnis (1998: 0,56 US-Dollar) ausgefallen sein. Das
                   zweite Quartal im laufenden Jahr, das im April ende, habe gegenüber der
                   Vorjahresperiode einen Umsatzzuwachs um 23,6 Prozent  auf nun 2,5 Milliarden
                   US-Dollar verzeichnen können. Für das Gesamtjahr 2000 prognostiziere man
                   einen Umsatz von rund 9 Milliarden US-Dollar. Die positive Geschäftsentwicklung
                   setze sich somit auch in Zukunft fort.

                   Das Kursziel liege bei 160 Euro.

Hallo Hugo stimme Dir im Wesentlichen zu. Ich für mein Teil denke, daß
man Agilent auch noch im Oktober kaufen kann (sozusagen nach den Unruhemonaten)

Kein Thema. Mich interessiert der Kurs in 11 1/2 Monaten :-) wie ich das einleitend ganz oben schon geschrieben habe. Agilent ist eben keine kleine Klitsche, sondern ein weltweit agierender Konzern. Daher ein "konservatives aber aussichtsreiches Langfristinvestment", dass ich ohne schlechtes Gewissen auch meinen Freunden/Verwandten empfehlen kann.

Ich habe zu 43.- gekauft und sehe die Aktie auch sehr positiv. Ich gehe zwar von einer längeren Halteperiode meinerseits aus (3-4 Jahre), denke aber an ähnliche Kursziele wie du.

Zwar mußte Agilent eine Gewinnwarnung geben und ist von 2 Invest-Häusern "downgegraded" worden: einmal von "strong buy auf buy" und das zweite mal von "buy auf neutral", aber die Unternehmensdaten, alsauch Story sprechen eine eindeutige Sprache.

and RedSwitch Inc. today announced a joint development effort aimed at the emerging InfiniBand market with the goal of
providing customers best-in-class networking solutions. RedSwitch will contribute world-class expertise in high-speed switch
fabric design and switch management. Agilent brings high-speed I/O design expertise, system-level integration capabilities, and
ASIC design and manufacturing skills to the development effort. The companies plan to develop a wide range of ICs for a
variety of InfiniBand applications. The agreement also includes an equity investment in RedSwitch by Agilent, the terms of
which were not disclosed.

InfiniBand is an interconnect or I/O architecture that connects servers with remote storage and networking devices and other
servers. It can also be used inside servers for inter-processor communication. InfiniBand is a channel-based, switched fabric,
point-to-point interconnect, which provides functionality, scalability and performance for a wide range of platforms and price
performance points. Industry leaders Compaq, Dell, Hewlett-Packard, IBM, Intel, Microsoft and Sun Microsystems are
driving the standard.

Agilent recently announced plans to provide a range of semiconductor and board solutions in support of the standard, including
router and switch products, serializer/deserializer (SerDes) ICs, and fiber-optic components. The company also plans to offer
test solutions at both the protocol and physical layer levels. Agilent's first products for InfiniBand are expected in 2001.
