Bombardier erhält weiteren Auftrag von Air New Zealand

11:26 06.11.06

Juli 2006 waren bereits neun Q300-Flugzeuge an Air New Zealand geliefert worden.

Dollar.

Die Aktie von Bombardier schloss am Freitag in Toronto bei 3,86 Kanadischen Dollar. (06.11.2006/ac/n/a)

PR Newswire

CHICAGO, Nov. 5, 2013

CHICAGO, Nov. 5, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Airline and Travel Payment Summit --  UATP announced today that it has entered into a strategic partnership with Alipay, China's leading third-party online payment solution, to enable the U.S. travel industry to offer Chinese consumers a convenient and trusted way to book and pay for overseas travel.

(Logo: photos.prnewswire.com/prnh/20081118/NETU022LOGO )

With minimal change to their existing backend systems, airlines, hotels and other travel enterprises can now easily connect to the more than 800 million Chinese account holders on the Alipay platform via the UATP Network. These consumers are extremely comfortable with online purchasing and enthusiastic about high-quality international products and overseas travel.

China's increasingly affluent middle- and upper-class consumers made 83 million outbound trips in 2012. China has been the world's fastest-growing tourism source market for the past decade and it is now also the world's top tourism spender. Chinese travelers spent a record US$102 billion in 2012 to surpass the U.S. and Germany, both with spending close to $84 billion.

"After years as the most widely used online payment platform in China, Alipay is thrilled to join forces with UATP in this milestone collaboration. We are excited to help U.S. businesses satisfy eager Chinese consumers," said Jingming Li, vice president and chief architect of Alipay International. "Alipay is dedicated to meeting the needs of China's vast and growing pool of keen overseas travelers by making it easier for them to pay for air tickets, book hotels, rent cars and make other travel-related purchases online from the world's leading airlines and accredited travel agencies."

"We look forward to partnering with Alipay and working with them in this mutually beneficial opportunity," said Ralph Kaiser, president and CEO, UATP. "We see further growth in outbound travel as inevitable for China. Matching the strength of the UATP Network with Alipay's proven success, we are confident that we can bring the best that both companies have to offer to this booming market."

Launched in 2004, Alipay is a cross-border payment solution that provides an easy and secure platform to make and receive payment over the Internet. Alipay partners with more than 180 financial institutions and supports transactions in 15 foreign currencies. It had more than 800 million registered accounts as of December 2012.

UATP is a comprehensive payment solution that airlines offer to reduce the high cost of credit card use and provide vital data for accurate travel management. UATP's corporate program and data tools, DataStream and DataMine, supply Level III Data for all air and rail travel, and folio-level data for hotel stays.

KORREKTUR/ROUNDUP/Experten: Air New Zealand

13.01.14 22:10
sicherste Fluggesellschaft
13:30 13.01.14

The story begins...

06.02.14 05:57
Air New Zealand's story began in April 1940 when its forerunner airline, Tasman Empire Airways Limited (TEAL) was incorporated. TEAL began its first trans-Tasman services with flying boats, and over the years steadily expanded the size and scope of its operations and the extent of its international network. The route network was expanded from Australia and the Pacific to Asia, the USA, the UK and Europe. In October 1953 TEAL became jointly owned by the New Zealand and Australian Governments, and in April 1961 the New Zealand Government assumed full ownership.
In addition to TEAL operating international services, the New Zealand Government established NZ National Airways Corporation (NAC) in 1947. NAC was the primary operator of domestic air services between major centres and provincial cities and towns, and along with TEAL would later form the basis for today's Air New Zealand.www.airnewzealand.co.nz/history

Solents were used to fly the Coral Route until September 1960, when the world's last scheduled international flying boat service was discontinued. A national carrier is born

06.02.14 06:03
In April 1965 TEAL was renamed Air New Zealand Limited, and continued operating solely international services. 1965 also heralded the beginning of the jet era for Air New Zealand, with the arrival in July of the first DC-8 jet aircraft. The new jets meant that Air New Zealand could expand operations to North America and Asia, becoming a truly international airline. In 1973, Air New Zealand also introduced the larger DC-10. The airline operated with a combined DC-8 and DC-10 fleet until the 1980s, when the larger Boeing 747 began to replace the older jets. The first 747 arrived in May 1981.
In the meantime, NAC's early piston-engined aircraft such as the DC3, were replaced by turbo-props, and in 1968 the jet age for domestic aviation was ushered in by the Boeing 737.
Thirteen years after TEAL was renamed Air New Zealand, Air New Zealand and NAC merged in April 1978, forming the first New Zealand carrier to offer both international and domestic services.
History NAC uniform
Tragedy struck Air New Zealand on November 28th 1979 when a DC 10 on a sightseeing flight to Antarctica crashed into Mt Erebus, resulting in the loss of all 257 passengers and crew onboard. The tragedy deeply affected New Zealand and everyone that worked at the airline.
In April 1989, the New Zealand Government privatisation of Air New Zealand was completed through the outright sale of the company for NZ$660 million, to a consortium comprising of Brierley Investments, Qantas, Japan Airlines and American Airlines. Air New Zealand shares were listed on the New Zealand Stock Exchange as "A" shares (could only be held by New Zealand nationals) in October 1989 and "B" shares (no restriction on nationality of ownership) in December 1991.
During the 1980s and 1990s Air New Zealand continued to expand its international network, particularly to Asian cities like Taipei, Nagoya, Osaka and Fukuoka.www.airnewzealand.co.nz/history

In September 1996, Air New Zealand announced a conditional agreement to purchase 50% of Ansett Holdings for a total outlay of A$475 million. The purchase was completed in October 1996. Ansett Holdings owned 100% of Ansett Australia (the domestic airline) and 49% of Ansett International.
In February 2000, Air New Zealand announced the conditional purchase of the remaining 50% of Ansett Holdings Limited from News Corporation Limited for A$580m, with a further deferred consideration equivalent to 10.5% of issued capital to be settled between two and four years. The purchase was completed in June 2000 creating a new world top twenty airline.
Ansett had an extensive network throughout Australia and provided Air New Zealand customers with a greatly enhanced offering.
Following a significant downturn in Ansett's performance, leading to unsustainable levels of losses, Ansett was placed into Voluntary Administration in September 2001. On the 4th of October 2001 the Air New Zealand Board, its major shareholders and the New Zealand Government announced a new proposal which provided a substantial capital injection from the New Zealand Government into
Air New Zealand. Following shareholder approval of the new proposal in December 2001, Air New Zealand was recapitalised in January 2002.www.airnewzealand.co.nz/history

Paybefore Awards Europe was created in 2012 to honor the successful prepaid, mobile and emerging payments programs in the U.K. and Europe. The awards are presented by Paybefore, whose publications are the leading source of industry information for the global prepaid and emerging payments community.

"We are incredibly honored to have our joint product selected as a Best Travel Companion winner," said Ralph Kaiser, CEO and president, UATP. "The Paybefore Awards is a highly distinguished event that is well-known by industry leaders around the world. We are grateful for the recognition and will continue to create innovative payment strategies for the industry."

The airberlin Flight Voucher program is now in the running to win best-in-category, which will be announced at the awards show on 20 May at the Don Carlos Resort and Spa in Marbella, Spain.

"Paybefore Awards Europe shines a spotlight on the innovators using payments to solve complex problems for a variety of constituents," said Loraine DeBonis, Paybefore editor-in-chief and chair of the judging panel. "Products such as the airberlin Flight Voucher are pushing the boundaries of what is possible in payments," she continued. "We are proud to recognize its contributions, advancing the prepaid and emerging payments industry."

"It's an exciting time in payments everywhere in the world, but this year's Paybefore Awards Europe winners demonstrate how quickly prepaid and mobile solutions are replacing legacy paper-based systems," added Marilyn Bochicchio, Paybefore's CEO. "Paybefore Awards is proud to recognize the organizations that are taking on paper in its many forms—not just cash—to improve business, government and consumers' lives."

The airberlin Flight Voucher program is a creative three-way partnership between UATP, Wirecard International, and airberlin. It is an airberlin prepaid/stored value product offering, administered by Wirecard International and routed through airberlin's UATP Network connections, creating a more efficient merchant acceptance process. Flight vouchers are available for purchase online in set increments of 10, 20, 30, 50 and 100 Euro, but multiple vouchers can be purchased and redeemed at once. The voucher program provides a secure alternative payment method for airberlin travelers, while creating an additional revenue stream for UATP and Wirecard.

Hallo zusammen,
