Wednesday, November 11, 2009 Northern Mining JV drilling programme at Kalgoorlie prospects uncovers exciting results A joint drilling programme between Northern Mining (ASX:NMI) and Southern Gold (ASX:SAU) has revealed outstanding gold intersections at Blair North in Kalgoorlie. The best intersections included 66m @ 2.9g/t Au (including 21m @ 4.5g/t Au, 8m @ 8.8g/t Au, 18m @ 3.4g/t Au, 6m @ 5.4g/t Au);43m @ 3.4g/t Au (including historical intersection 25m @ 4.0g/t Au) and 45m @ 0.9g/t Au (including 23m @ 1.2g/t Au) Five reverse circulation holes were drilled along George’s Reward southern tenement boundary in the Southern Zone of E25/268. All drillholes were collared in NMI’s tenement E25/268 with the objective of testing the boundary zone straddling the NMI and SAU tenements. Mineralisation is confirmed from surface to 200 metres below surface and continues south of the tenement boundary. It remains open at depth and along strike. NMI believes there are sufficient mineralised drillholes with good to excellent continuity to commence an initial resource estimate for George’s Reward. Chairman Alan Lockett said the results were exciting in the future of NMI. "Our very supportive shareholder base from both Europe and Australia should be pleased," Mr Lockett said. "RC drilling has commenced at the Northern Zone of Blair North where recent rotary air blast drilling confirmed an extensive gold footprint showing excellent RC gold targets. Results will be announced as they become available." Meanwhile, Northern Mining’s holding in the East Kalgoorlie Project recently increased to 90%, while Balagundi Gold may earn a 24% interest in the project by collectively completing 7346 metres of reverse circulation and diamond drilling with NMI before December 2010.
