In its home market, EVN provides a comprehensive range of energy and environmental services “from a single source.” Based on state-of-the-art infrastructure, the company supplies electricity, gas, heat, drinking water, wastewater services, and thermal waste utilization. Its portfolio also includes the operation of cable TV and telecommunications networks, as well as various energy services for private customers, businesses, and municipalities.
EVN also has a strong international presence. Its energy business abroad includes electricity sales to end customers in Germany, Bulgaria, and North Macedonia, as well as gas sales to end customers in Croatia. In addition, EVN operates power generation facilities in North Macedonia, Bulgaria, Albania, and Germany. Further activities include the production and sale of heat to end customers in Bulgaria, the procurement of electricity, gas, and other primary energy sources, and trading on international wholesale energy markets.
A key milestone was the acquisition of a German environmental services group in 2003, which enabled EVN to establish environmental services as a second strategic pillar of its business model. Today, EVN has extensive expertise from more than 100 environmental projects, including the planning and construction of drinking water supply systems, wastewater treatment plants, desalination facilities, and thermal waste and sewage sludge treatment plants.
In the 2024/25 financial year, around 4.9 million customers relied on EVN for the secure supply of energy and environmental products and services.
The EVN Group is currently active in 13 countries. In the 2024/25 financial year, 50.4% of total revenues were generated outside Austria, primarily in the markets of Central, Eastern, and South-Eastern Europe (previous year: 52.7%).
