Booking Holidays With the New "Wirecard": Leading holiday Travel Operator in Poland Recommending New Payment Method
BERLIN, MUNICH and GRASBRUNN, Germany, December 21 /PRNewswire/ -- With immediate effect, the virtual MasterCard issued by Wirecard (Nachrichten/Aktienkurs) Bank AG is now also accepted by one of the most renowned holiday travel operators in Poland, Polish Travel Quo Vadis Sp. zo.o. This is a major breakthrough as the company is also able to access the customers of its over 200 partners. Customers booking a trip via HotelPolen.com or EntdeckePolen.de are thus now able to pay simply and effortlessly using the virtual MasterCard.
The arguments in favor of this collaboration are obvious: "Wirecard", a Wirecard Bank AG product, permits simple and secure payments over the Internet. Using "Wirecard", private customers who previously have not had a credit card of their own or do not want to use their credit card for Internet transactions are able to buy from all Internet merchants and mail order companies which accept MasterCard.
Says Dariusz Litwinski, managing director of Polish Travel Quo Vadis: "The new "Wirecard" is exactly what we were looking for to reach entirely new customers in the area of Internet travel reservations. With the "Wirecard" we are now able to turn visitors who have previously not had a credit card into active customers. At the same time, we work with over 200 holiday travel companies and have recommended that they should also accept the virtual MasterCard."
The partnership offers Wirecard AG enormous potential as well in view of the expanding Polish travel market. In 2005, the share of foreign travel booked by Polish consumers widened by 14 percent. Just under half of all travel reservations are currently being made via the Internet, with this trend rising. Accordingly, the market is enormous especially as Polish Travel Quo Vadis does not only concentrate on the domestic travel market but also offers Polish customers international travel.
"Today, only just under one out of four Europeans has their own credit card. As a result, many people are not able to access inexpensive travel offerings via the Internet. The new "Wirecard" offers a favorably priced alternative for tapping these new customer groups," explains Rüdiger Trautmann, COO Sales and Marketing at Wirecard AG.
