NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 15, 2000--Ashanti Goldfields Company Limited ("Ashanti" or "the Company") announces that it is in the final stages of discussions with the Government of Ghana. The Company anticipates that a successful conclusion of these discussions will lead to a settlement acceptable to all parties.
The Ghana High Court hearing originally scheduled for earlier today has been adjourned pending finalisation of the negotiations between the parties.
