Riding Success of Xtasy Graphics Cards in U.S. Markets,
Company Sets Sights on Top European Markets
London, UK / Gurnee, IL USA - February 1, 2002 - VisionTek, a leading provider of advanced graphics and memory solutions for PCs, today announced that it is expanding its operations to Europe with new offices in the United Kingdom and Germany. Leveraging the success of its top-selling Xtasy™ video cards, VisionTek is establishing new European sales and marketing headquarters in London and an operations base in Aachen, Germany. Both offices will be opened in early February 2002.
"We are delighted to bring VisionTek's best-selling graphics cards to customers throughout the European community, said John Gunn, president of VisionTek's Consumer Products Division. "Europe is truly becoming a unified market, one that presents fertile ground for growth in the consumer PC market. On the heels of reaching the No. 1 spot in U.S. retail market share, we are prepared for an aggressive push into the European market with a strong brand, exceptional products based on NVIDIA® graphics technology, and a talented regional team."
By establishing a foothold in Europe, VisionTek also will extend the reach of its successful relationship with NVIDIA Corporation, the global leader in advanced graphics and multimedia processing technology for the consumer and professional computing markets. "NVIDIA is very excited to support VisionTek's entry into the European market," said Joe Gorfinkle, general manager of NVIDIA Europe. "As our channel strengthens and grows across Europe, it is important that we work with the key players in the market - companies that not only have great products but an ambitious business model that matches our own. Fresh from their retail success in the US, we are confident that VisionTek will be a key partner in 2002."
Named No. 1 in U.S. retail market share among video card manufacturers in the latest report from NPD INTELECT Market Tracking®, VisionTek offers NVIDIA-based graphics solutions for all levels of consumers at multiple price points. With its first-to-market, best-selling Xtasy 6964 graphics accelerator, featuring NVIDIA's Ti 500 chipset, VisionTek has won major awards including Maximum PC's Kick Ass Award, Computer Gaming World's Editor's Choice, PC Gamer's Editor's Choice, and PC World's Top Ten Graphics Cards for Gamers.
