Cable & Wireless HKT (0008) issued a statement this morning saying that its major
shareholder Cable & Wireless Plc of the UK may reach an agreement on the takeover
bid for HKT within 48 hours with Pacific Century CyberWorks (1186).
HKT has requested for a suspension of trading in its shares this morning pending an
appropriate announcement by PCCW.
