Sumant Sinha, chairman and CEO, ReNew Wind Power, said, "This deal reinforces our commitment to developing sustainable energy solutions for India. Goldman Sachs' global experience and network in the alternative/clean technology industry will provide us with additional momentum." But he did not specify exactly how much stake will be offered to Goldman Sachs. "It would be a majority stake. We are still working on this," Sinha told TOI.
With the expanded equity base, the firm is also looking at raising debt from India and overseas on a project-finance basis.

ReNew has signed business framework pacts with Kenersys GmBH, Regen Powertech and Suzlon Energy to establish and operate wind farms throughout India and will expand its wind portfolio by 200-300MW annually to reach 1 gigawatt capacity by 2015, said ReNew Wind in a statement.
