KB: We've gotten some significant gains that have come from what initially appear to be very minor investments or very little capital being committed. For example, Stonegate Agricom Ltd. (TSX:ST). TER: You wanted to get into the fertilizer business with Stonegate because it's a play on agriculture (Ag), a sector on which you're bullish. But doesn't a mining operation add risk to what you already believe is a relatively safe way of playing agriculture?

KB: Let me first say I agree that resource exploration has got to be one of the riskiest sectors in which to be involved. Typically, the odds are insurmountable but Stonegate is not a grassroots exploration. Both of Stonegate's properties had proven historical merit; and our agreement was structured in very low-risk terms, which would minimize any material damage to our assets or the NAV of our company. We approached the transaction, got involved and advanced the asset to the point of going public.

We started with a small investment of $53,000, which was an option agreement that we rolled into a private company, and we ended up with 80% of that company. We were in a very, very comfortable position as far as the money that we had to put in. Stonegate went public with a $50 million offering and, post-IPO, we retained about 54% of the company. We put $12 million into that IPO, which basically gave us a claim on 54% of $50M through our shareholdings. So, there was very little risk.

Lohnt sich hier der Einstieg?

Ich würde mich freuen wenn mir jemand einen kurzen Überblick geben könnte.

Mir ist die Wichtigkeit dieses Rohstoffes bewusst da er zur Düngemittelproduktion benötigt wird. Hier gibt es immer mehr Engpässe da die Ressourcen endlich sind. Deshalb habe ich auch bereits in ein Pottasche Explorer investiert, welcher auf gleichenm Preisniveau ist.

Wie seht ihr hier die Chancen für diesen Explorer?

Stonegate Agricom:

Stonegate läuft knapp unterhalb eines Widerstandes bei rund 1,90$. Dieses bildet sich aus dem letzten Verlaufhochs und dem Hoch vom Ende des letzten Jahres. Das überwinden dieses Widerstandes bleibt abzuwarten. Der Chart sieht sehr stabil und bullish aus. Da Stonegate aber ein sehr junger Explorerwert ist, spielen charttechnische Gegebenheiten nur eine sekundäre Rolle.

Noch etwas weiter zurück in der Entwicklung befindet sich Phosphat-Explorer Stonegate Agricom. Allerdings gab es in dieser Woche interessante News: Großaktionär Eric Sprott trennt sich von 25 Mio. Aktien zu 1,75 CAD. Nach diesem Verkauf wird Sprott noch 50,6 Millionen Aktien an Stonegate halten, was dann 36% entspricht. Einige Stonegate-Aktionäre meldeten sich bei uns und fragten, ob man jetzt auch aussteigen soll, wenn schon Sprott in so großem Stil aussteigt. Das ist natürlich Quatsch. Denn: Für die 25 Mio. Aktien im Wert von 43,75 Mio. CAD (die Sprott zufließen) gibt es natürlich auch Käufer, sonst hätte sich das Konsortium um GMP Securities nicht auf einen „Bought Deal“ eingelassen, indem man Sprott die Abnahme aller Aktien garantiert.

Und wer sagt denn, dass nicht beispielsweise ein großer Teil dieser Aktien nicht an einen strategischen Investor aus der Industrie weitergereicht wird? Die Spekulationen werden in den nächsten Tagen kommen und wir sehen die Kurse um 1,75 CAD, zu denen dieses Paket den Besitzer wechselt, nun eher als die untere Begrenzung bei Stonegate an.

Die Aktie dürfte zwar ein paar Wochen um oder über diesem Kurs schwanken, aber unter normalen Umständen nicht mehr viel tiefer fallen. Normale Umstände bedeuten, dass es dem Team um CEO Mark Ashcroft gelingt, das Paris Hills Phosphat-Vorkommen auf eine ökonomisch lukrative Größe zu entwickeln. Dies werden die nächsten Wochen und Monate zeigen. Wir werden diesbezüglich auf der PDAC in Toronto ein Treffen mit dem Management und dem Board um Ian McDonald und Kerry Knoll (Ex-Blue Pearl/ Thompson Creek) haben und Sie wie gewohnt auf dem Laufenden halten.

 Unentschiedene Situation bei Stonegate Agricom. Der Kurs ist am Ausbruch über das letzte Hoch gescheitert und verläuft nun in einem Pullback. Unterstützung sollten hier die GD´s sowie die naheliegenden Aufwärtstrendlinien bieten. Indikatoren: MACD leicht negativ, RSI neutral, Stochastik neutral.
