WL Ross Scoops Up Stake in Gas Tanker From Lehman

"The trustee unwinding LEHMAN Brothers Holdings' brokerage business has agreed to sell the company's stake in a gas shipping business to Wilbur ROSS for $110 million.

Trustee James GIDDENS, who is liquidating LEHMAN's brokerage, said in a bankruptcy court filing Thursday that affiliates of ROSS's WL Ross & Co. LLC will purchase Lehman's stake in gas tanker company Navigator Holdings Ltd.

The deal is being conducted as a private sale with a limited no-shop provision.
But LEHMAN said it will consider competing bids if received by Sept. 12.

However, LEHMAN said, Navigator has a "poison pill" to discourage anyone from acquiring more than 15% of the company's stock without board approval.

For that reason GIDDENS said he believes that a sale to an outsider unknown to the Navigator board would be more difficult to accomplish.

"In our case, Navigator has waived the poison pill," Wilbur ROSS said Friday in an interview.

WL Ross had previously made two other investments in Navigator, and with this purchase they'll have about a 56% of the common stock. Ross's company paid $25 a share for its stake over the past year, the same price it's paying for Lehman's stake in Navigator.

"It's a very interesting, niche market that they're in," said ROSS. "What they carry is liquefied natural gas, ethylene and ammonia to shallow harbors in many developing countries, such as Indonesia, China and Venezuela."

ROSS, the billionaire investor whose winning bets in steel, auto parts and other distressed industries has led many to dub him the "king of bankruptcy," is bullish on
the market of LNG shippers"...

Lehman Brothers bringt Immobilientochter an die Börse

Die Nachfolgefirma der zusammengebrochenen US-Investmentbank Lehman Brothers bringt ihre Immobilientochter Archstone an die Börse. Dabei nutzt Lehman die derzeit hohe Nachfrage nach Mietwohnungen in den USA.

Lehman Brothers gibt es eigentlich nicht mehr. Doch die Nachfolgefirma ist seit dem Zusammenbruch 2008 damit beschäftigt, die Scherben aufzusammeln. Nun verkauft sie die kurz vor der Pleite erstandene Immobilientochter Archstone. Die Einnahmen aus dem Börsengang kommen letztlich den Gläubigern der Bank zugute. Archstone hat am späten Freitag seinen Börsenprospekt vorgelegt. Es ist aber noch offen, wann genau der Sprung aufs Parkett stattfinden soll und zu welchem Preis die Aktien ausgegeben werden. Die angepeilten Gesamteinnahmen bezifferte Archstone auf zunächst bis zu 100 Millionen Dollar. Die Summe kann sich aber noch ändern.

Archstone ist einer der grössten Vermieter der USA mit mehr als 59 400 Einheiten in 181 Kommunen. Die Appartementanlagen stehen bevorzugt in Ballungsräumen wie New York City, San Francisco oder Washington, DC. Lehman hatte die Immobilienfirma 2007 zusammen mit einem Partner für 22,2 Milliarden Dollar übernommen und erst unlängst die alleinige Kontrolle erlangt.
Lehman Brothers war nur etwa ein Jahr nach dem Kauf im September 2008 wegen missglückter Spekulationen auf dem US-Häusermarkt spektakulär zusammengebrochen. Ein neues Management sammelt seitdem die Scherben auf. Alte Geschäfte werden abgewickelt und Vermögenswerte verkauft, um den Gläubigern zumindest einen Teil ihres verlorenen Geldes zurückgeben zu können.

Läuft es nach LEHMAN, dann werden diese 20 Millionen "disallowed and expunged":

Auf was beruhen Eure Hoffnungen und welche sind das. Denn wenn Ihr diese nicht hättet, dann würdet Ihr Euch die Arbeit nicht antun.

Ich für meinen Teil sehe immer wieder mal vorbei, weil es doch immer noch interessant ist. Doch ein positives Ergebnis für die Aktionäre

wird wohl nicht drinn sein.

Auch wenn Lehman aktiv ist, müssen die uns gar nichts mehr geben und schenken werden die uns sowieso nichts.

Lehman hat auch nach Beendigung des Ch 11 Verfahrens immer noch 200 Mrd mehr Schulden als Vermögen - es wird nach Lage der Dinge nichts für die Aktionäre übrig bleiben.
