HOPKINTON, Mass. (CBS.MW) -- Shares of EMC dropped almost 14 percent in after-hours trading Thursday after the data-storage giant said it would report a wider-than-expected third-quarter loss and lay off 7 percent of its work force, or about 1,300 jobs.
