Hi,

which kind of chart do you recommend:logarithmic or linear? Does  a rule exist, when I have to use which of them?

Hi Samir,

well, both have pros and cons.
Linear: ok for short-term trading, but doesn't show the relative changes correctly in medium- or longer-term chart.

Log: ok for short-term trading, too.
advantage: it shows the correct medium- or longer-term chart.

Just try to show the DAX-Chart with both options. You will see the difference! Then the "crash" of 2000 doesn't look so dramatical as the big ones in former times.

Conclusion: for short-term trading both options are similar.
