RS u.

Jim Byrnes, who was recently banned from being a company director, evidence has been given in a court hearing that he threatened to kill two children and is being investigated over possible insider trading.
The larger-than-life former bankrupt and used car salesman, better known as Big Jim, was once Alan Bond's financial adviser. But like Bond, Mr Byrnes has had endless run-ins with the authorities. He has been jailed for the deemed supply of heroin, convicted for assaulting a bikie, banned by the Australian Securities and Investments Commission, and labelled a habitual offender by the Roads and Traffic Authority.
A road contractor, Richard Furnari, told the Federal Court in Melbourne that Mr Byrnes had "produced photos of my three- and four-year-old children walking into kindergarten and explained that if a settlement wasn't reached that we may not see them again".
The evidence emerged three weeks ago at a liquidator's hearing when Mr Furnari refused to state his address, citing the visit in March last year from Mr Byrnes.
Mr Furnari told the court Mr Byrnes, whom he described as an "underworld-type figure from Sydney", also threatened to harm him and his wife in order to settle a dispute with Mr Byrnes's business associate Mark Suhr, with whom Mr Furnari is involved in litigation.
