Bauxite Resources lifts bauxite resource by 35% to 33m tonnes at North Darling Range

Bauxite Resources (ASX: BAU) has upped the the bauxite resource base in the North Darling Range area to 33.4 million tonnes at 41.1% total alumina as a result of resource modelling on drilling at the Cardea and Minerva prospects.

This has led to a maiden Inferred Resource of 6.4 million tonnes at Cardea prospect, with a further 2.2 million tonnes maiden Inferred Resource for the Minerva prospect.

The Minerva area comes under the Bauxite Resource Joint Venture with Yankuang Group.

Bauxite Resources will retain a 30% bauxite interest, while the Cardea prospect is subject to a Farm In and Joint Venture Agreement between Bauxite Resources and HD Mining & Investment Pty Ltd (Shandong Provincial Bureau of Geology and Mineral Resources).  Shandong can earn up to a 60% interest at the completion of certain milestones.

Resource modelling for Minerva and Cardea were conducted by Snowden Mining Industry Consultants Pty Ltd, and all results supersede previous resources announced by the Company.

Stage 3 of the Cardea resource is currently being modelled and two additional prospects, Pomona and Concordia, have been identified. First pass drilling is complete on several properties within these new prospect areas.

Resource modelling is planned for the second half of calendar year 2011 once all results have been returned from these prospects.

The Company is reviewing all resources for various cut-off grades with the objective of optimising the quality of potential refinery feed and assessing Direct Shipping Ore (DSO) potential. This forms part of the refinery scoping study that is underway,

North Darling Range Global Resource

The Company is building on the robust resource base in the North Darling Range with the addition of the two resource areas. Drilling is ongoing across selected tenements within the 49 tenements granted to date in the Darling Range.

The Darling Range in the south west of Western Australia produces 23% of the world’s alumina. This area has mined bauxite and refined alumina since the 1960s and currently exports 12.3Mtpa earning West Australia $3.6 billion in export revenue and accounting for 5% of the State’s total export income.

Australian Bauxite inks maiden 16.8Mt high grade Bauxite JORC Resource at Binjour

Australian Bauxite (ASX: ABZ) has established an initial 16.8 million tonnes JORC Resource at its Binjour project in central Queensland, growing the company resources to 84 million tonnes.

The gibbsite-rich resource is based on 88 infill exploration holes that intersected a thick bauxite layer that is largely concealed beneath a surface clay horizon.

Significantly, most of the bauxite resources identified in this estimation are a superior quality bauxite suitable for sweetening circuits in refineries known as “Brown Sugar” bauxite.

The high grade core totalling 9 million tonnes of extremely high grade bauxite commands a large price premium.

Recently identified new bauxite areas at Binjour are currently being drill tested to expand resource extent.

High grade bauxite results from a further 13 holes were received after the resource estimation process and will be included in the next Binjour resource update.

The Binjour bauxite project is located approximately 160 kilometres inland from Bundaberg port.

A new exploration permit application has been made to secure the extension areas for the company. Once approved, exploration will accelerate in the Binjour district.

Resource growth has already exceeded the company’s target for calendar 2011 and has potential to continue across the 37 tenements in Queensland, NSW and Tasmania.

Perth, Oct 25, 2011 (ABN Newswire) - Perth based bauxite explorer and developer, Bauxite Resources Limited (ASX:BAU) is pleased to advise the completion of Phase 1 of the Bauxite Alumina Joint Ventures ("BAJV") Study for the development of an alumina refinery in the south west of Western Australia.

Phase 1 of the BAJV Study consisted of establishing the Joint Venture ("JV") company, forming a team of well skilled staff and obtaining sufficient geological data in the JV northern tenement to provide information for the refinery decision-making process. Further assay and resource modelling for northern tenements will be completed over the next three to six months.

Phase 2 will focus on geological exploration moving to the southern tenements. An internal draft refinery scoping study is complete along with a series of financial models to contribute towards Phase 2. The main objective of Phase 2 geological studies will be to gain sufficient data in the southern areas to assess the relative merits of a refinery located in either the northern or southern areas. This comparison will include the following factors:

- The likely relative quality and location of bauxite sources in each region

- The metallurgical variability of the different bauxite and mineralogy profiles

- The preferred bauxite/alumina process path

- Relative environmental and social issues

- Infrastructure requirements

- Relative economics

Since its inception, Mr Scott Donaldson, BRL's CEO, acted as CEO of the JV. With Phase 1 now complete, Mr Donaldson will step down as acting CEO of the JV and BAJV will operate separately from the parent companies with an independent General Manager reporting to BAJV board to be appointed. Mr Donaldson will now focus solely on his role as CEO of BRL.

Die Höhepunkte der Tiefs wurden im Herbst 2008 erreicht, davon sind wir noch weit entfernt. Politische Entscheidungen zur Schuldenkrise geben die Richtung im Chart vor. Inzwischen helfen gute news nicht mehr weiter. Mag sein es geht noch etwas tiefer, aber mit jedem Schritt, der einer Lösung der Krise näherkommt, wird sich der Chart erholen, weil Gelder in den Rohstoffsektor zurückfließen. Dann werden gute news als solche wieder erkannt und unterstützen den Trend.

It is the 99% beneficial owner of the Manantenina Bauxite prospect in the south of the country where exploration to date has shown significant potential for a large tonnage, high grade, bauxite/gibbsite development.

Aziana listed on the ASX on Wednesday 9 November 2011, after successfully closing its IPO oversubscribed, raising A$12.5 million.

Prior to its IPO, Aziana was funded by $14.87 million of private equity and borrowings. To be able to advance its projects towards production, Aziana requires additional funding.

The funds raised by the IPO will be used to continue exploration and development, including drilling and resource estimation, of Aziana’s gold and bauxite projects.
