ST. LOUIS, Oct. 2 /PRNewswire/ -- Kurt Warner, St. Louis Rams quarterback and two-time NFL MVP, announced today that his Good Sports Gang animated home video series, for ages 4 - 8, will be available this fall in 2600 Wal-Mart stores and other retail outlets nationwide. The DVD features eight loveable sports-ball characters that entertain kids with out-of-this world adventures that embrace solid, down-to-earth values.
The first two titles, Elliot the Invincible, a story about finding your talent, and Together We''re Better, a story about teamwork, will be released on September 30. The stories feature Kurt Warner with an animated team of sports ball superheroes who come to the rescue of kids in the imaginary town of FairField.
Warner -- father of four -- and his family began working on the Good Sports Gang about 18 months ago. He says that he saw the series as a fun way to share with kids what he''s learned in his life. "As many people know, my wife and I have experienced the highest of highs and the lowest of lows. Kids need to know good things and bad things all happen in life. But they also need to know that whatever comes their way, they''ve got to hold on to their faith and family. After all, these are the two things that are really important."
"Each program begins with a mission," Warner says. "Through video magic, I actually appear on the screen and interact with the animated characters. Since I''m the coach of the Good Sports Gang, I help develop a game plan that will solve some problem or help a kid in need -- then I send the team on its way."
The Good Sports Gang videos are available on DVD and VHS and include such specials as "Coach''s Corner with Kurt Warner." The Warner''s 10-year old daughter, Jesse, also is an active participant in the production. She takes viewers on a tour of the animation studio and explains 3D animation. She also takes viewers to the sound studio where she creates songs for the show. Exclusive to the DVD are special features such as a printable coloring book and bloopers with Kurt and Jesse.
