kennt jemand diese Firma? Bisher hab ich nur Informationen gefunden, die auf eine GmbH hindeuten. Soll aber angeblich dennoch eine AG sein.

WYETH is the pharmaceutical business of American Home Products (AHP) and comprises many legal entities. At WYETH, we continue AHP's commitment to ensuring a healthier world through our strong research and development efforts. Our rich pipeline of innovative products makes us one of the largest and most successful pharmaceutical companies with global reach in operation today.

To learn more about AHP and its financial performance, quarterly earnings, research pipeline, and investment information, visit the investor relations section of the AHP Web site.

WYETH has grown into a global company from humble beginnings with one man — John Wyeth. A promising young pharmaceutical chemist with much ambition, John built the foundations for what would one day be one of the leading pharmaceutical companies in the world. The Wyeth legacy began in the early 1860s when John and his brother, Frank, opened a small drugstore under the name John Wyeth & Brother at 1410 Walnut Street, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

John Wyeth was an innovator, motivated by the wish to help people lead healthier lives. He looked ahead into the future and saw a career in pharmaceuticals based on research that could help those people. John and Frank’s firm was more than just a drugstore; it was a research laboratory as well. Their firm transformed the way drugstores operated. Later known as Wyeth Laboratories, it became the first to "advance manufacture" frequently prescribed medicines in bulk. Also, in 1864 the John Wyeth & Brother catalog of elixirs and tonics was published, the first catalog of its kind. At WYETH, we have proudly carried on John Wyeth’s vision of creating a healthier world.

In 1931, American Home Products (AHP) bought the rights of the WYETH firm from Harvard University. Stuart Wyeth, John’s son, left the controlling interest of the firm to Harvard upon his death. Today, WYETH is still owned by AHP and is the product of four major companies that have merged together. One of these companies, was, of course, Wyeth Laboratories. The others were Ayerst, McKenna and Harrison, Ltd; A.H. Robins; and Lederle Laboratories.

The combination of these companies led to a long history of accomplishments, discoveries, and pharmaceutical innovations. Highlights include:
The development of the "compressed pill," or tablet, and the first rotary tablet press
The first soluble gelatin capsules
The pioneering development of an infant formula patterned after mother's milk
The first orally active estrogen, which became the pioneer product for estrogen replacement therapy
The first penicillin tablets and oral suspensions
The first effective therapeutic agent for preventing and controlling epileptic seizures
The first oral form of live trivalent poliovirus vaccine in the United States
The development of a heat-stable, freeze-dried vaccine and the bifurcated needle, which led to the worldwide eradication of smallpox
The first commercial synthesis of steroids for oral contraceptives
The development of benzodiazepines, an alternative to barbiturates, for the short-term treatment of anxiety
The first Haemophilus b conjugate vaccine licensed for use in infants in the United States for protection against bacterial meningitis
The first diphtheria/tetanus/acellular pertussis (DTaP) vaccine available in the United States
The first serotonin and norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor for effective treatment of depression
The first combination estrogen/progestin hormone therapy in a single-tablet regimen

Today, the commitment to innovation continues in our research and development. Unique findings in metabolic and central nervous system disorders are leading to new advances in controlling chronic diseases such as diabetes and Alzheimer's disease. Novel compounds that represent promising new developments in asthma and transplantation therapy are being studied. And innovative new drugs and vaccines are being tested for more effective treatment of cardiovascular diseases, arthritis, and AIDS.

We are proud of what WYETH has become. Since the days of John and Frank WYETH’s small drugstore, we have helped people live better lives. We are currently serving the health care needs of more than 80 countries worldwide. We continue to pursue our original vision of leading the way for a healthier world.

"Eigene" Aktien haben die also nicht? AHP sind wohl zwar krisensicher, aber kein wirkliches Schnäppchen
