Chances are this has nothing to do with WMI.

But...
Remember when Director of OTS resigned... he had initially put in 'under the radar' information that he would be looking to step away... and then pow; gone! Once gone..the OTS went under attack by the Media.

If the same holds true for JPM..then hopefully Dimon knows whats on the horizon or what fate JPMC has and makes his exit as quickly and painlessly as possible. This could be the beginning of the final stages of the spin/positioning that the marketing/branding firms have engaged in (as Larry had posted about earlier). Dimon may want to preserve his image (as many here have said). If Dimon is not sure that the media will continue to promote him/jpmc in a positive respect should the 'stones' be turned...then maybe he has been advised to clear out. Or simply maybe he has something better planned.


Now if this (stepping away) was (speculation) related to his wrong doing or the enrichment of himself and JPMC at the cost of others and he knows it then... his departure could be good or bad:

Bad becuase if Dimon is gone, disappeared..... then the depositions everyone is speaking about can not be feared. Not by JPMC and/or himself. That is of course should he disappear for good.

Good because Dimon might be trying to minimize 'negative' relationship to what happened with WAMU. Should they be 'found guilty' of the accusations against them, then it may be best to not be the one in charge becuase of the windfall of negative press associated with it.
This seems alot like what Dimon is doing in my opinion.

He is king of "HIS" hill at this time. No need for him to risk future hills with little to gain. There is a good chance in my opinion that the following occurs:

Tons of good stuff has been happening since I found this board. For those posting things like "this will never be worth more than 10 cents" or "why isn't anything happening" I have one bit of advice, "read up". Tons of events have transpired and I can not think of one event that has been negative for WMI. Everything has rolled out as expected/predicted/calculated. Never once did I think things would roll out as smoothly as they have. Who could have?

We have:
-A Judge looking for Justice
-A Judge who is moving with caution and clarity
-A Judge who is putting her foot down and taking control
-FDIC with increased borrowing capacity (just in case needed)
-JPMC Lawyers who appear focused solely on delaying
-A brilliant Legal Team (inclusive of several great firms)
-Court granted motion to proceed with Discovery
-Court declines JPMC claim to transfer the 4 Billion to DC
-Increase in PPS (not being our major focus as of yet)
-Deposition by Logan that supports that the money is WMI's
-OTS has been fingered as ignorant/faulty
-Reich Resigns (OTS)
-Scott Polakoff Resigns (OTS)
-FDIC has been pointed at as being oblivious
-Bair is starting to get some negative media
-JPMC may be splitting up into smaller banking units
-Jamie Dimon states that he will be departing JPMC
-Texas Action
-Tons of knowledgable, kind & fun posters on this board
-Slate staying out of it
-1 Year of PPS moving upward
-Bashers still here bashing away
-Pumpers still here pumping away
-Nearly LTCG taxes for those who averaged down after Seizure
-Tons of people who have found a way to recover their loses

So now what are we waiting for?
