SolarWorld says it did not receive federal subsidies

SolarWorld has made a statement that it has not received any federal subsidies for the development of its solar manufacturing plant in Hillsboro, Oregon or for the redevelopment of its now-closed Camarillo plant in California.
SolarWorld has announced that the company invested more than US$600 million of its own capital into the Hillsboro production facility alone.

The statement is attributed to SolarWorld Industries America's President Gordon Brinser.
SolarWorld has announced that the company invested more than US$600 million of its own capital into the Hillsboro production facility alone. The US Department of Energy awarded the company eligibility for $82.2 million in advanced energy manufacturing tax credits in 2010.
However, SolarWorld claims that it had not applied for, used, sold or profited from these credits.
The company has been leading the Coalition for American Solar Manufacturing submitting trade cases on behalf of a coalition of domestic manufacturers to stop, as what SolarWorld says, the Chinese government from investing massive improper subsidies to underwrite its solar industry’s export campaign and dump products, or sell them at artificially low prices, to seize U.S. market share.
