Almost ironically, it was the week that trucking firm YRC Worldwide, parent of Roadway, reported its road improving. A Monday release from the less-than-truckload carrier says the company expects to show improved results in the third quarter. YRC expects a lessened loss, estimating $18 million to $22 million, well improved from the $118 million loss one year earlier. And, YRC reported sequential per-day tonnage improvements from this year’s second quarter. National and regional revenues per shipment are both up from one year ago. Investors lifted YRC shares by .57 to 4.27, though still down sizably this year, on a split-adjusted basis.
