Transocean hochinteressant!

Washington D.C. (BoerseGo.de) – Der Bohrinselbetreiber Transocean und die US-Behörden haben sich drei Jahre nach der Ölpest im Golf von Mexiko auf eine Milliardenstrafe geeinigt. Der schweizerische Plattformbetreiber hat laut Bloomberg mit den US-Behörden einen Vergleich geschlossen, wonach 1,4 Milliarden US-Dollar an Strafe zu zahlen sind. Laut dem US-Justizministerium setzt sich die Strafe aus einer Teilsumme von einer Milliarde US-Dollar für die Straftat der Gewässerverunreinigung und 400 Millionen US-Dollar für das Vorliegen einer kriminellen Handlung zusammen. Die Strafe ist über einen Zeitraum von fünf Jahren zu leisten, wobei 2013 insgesamt 560 Millionen US-Dollar zu entrichten sind. Aufgrund des Schuldbekenntnisses von Transocean sollen nach der Strafzahlung auch die laufenden Ermittlungen gegen den Konzern eingestellt werden.

"Der weiter hohe Bedarf absorbiert die durch Neubauten hinzukommenden Kapazitäten und führt zu steigenden oder stabilen Tagesraten", sagte Transocean CEO Steven Newman an einer Präsentation am Credit Suisse Energy Summit in Vail, Colorado am Dienstag. Als strategische Ziele formulierte Newman die weitere Umsetzung der Flottenstrategie mit einer Konzentration auf Deepwater und Ultradeepwater Plattformen sowie hochspezialisierte und -qualitative Standplattformen.

 

Dabei verwies der Unternehmenschef auf die vier in Auftrag gegebenen neuen Tiefseeanlagen mit Investitionen in Höhe von rund 3 Mrd USD. Allein für diese Anlagen lägen Zehnjahres-Verträge im Volumen von 7,6 Mrd USD vor.

 

Auch der Auftragsbestand insgesamt sei weiter stark. Die Volumen betragen laut Präsentation für 2012 1,9 Mrd USD, für 2013 8,6 Mrd und für 2014 5,6 Mrd. Für die folgenden acht Jahre rechnet Transocean mit einem Wert von 13,3 Mrd USD.

 Vor Einigung im US-Strafverfahren?

Am Markt kommen Gerüchte auf, wonach der von Transocean und der US-Justiz angestrebte Vergleich über 1,4-1,5 Mrd USD im Zusammenhang mit der Ölkatastrophe im Golf von Mexico im April 2010 vom zuständigen US-Gericht bewilligt wird. Händler erwarten daher, dass mit dem Wegfall des grossen Unsicherheitsfaktors die Aktien weiteres Erholungspotential haben. Ausserdem dürften namhafte Grossaktionäre ihre Anteile in einem rosigeren Umfeld weiter aufstocken, heisst es. Deshalb wächst am Markt die Zuversicht, dass die Titel im Falle einer Einigung mit den US-Behörden zu einem weiteren ruckartigen Kursanstieg ansetzen könnten.

Federal Judge Approves Transocean Plea Agreement in Gulf Oil Spill 

A federal judge in New Orleans approved Transocean Ltd.'s (RIG) $400 million criminal settlement with the U.S. Justice Department over the 2010 Deepwater Horizon accident, a spokesman for the company said Thursday.

 

Judge Jane Triche Milazzo accepted Transocean's guilty plea to one criminal misdemeanor violation of the Clean Water Act for failing to properly monitor the well at the time of the deadly 2010 blowout in the Gulf of Mexico, the spokesman said.

The company will pay a $100 million fine within 60 days and $150 million each over the next three to five years to the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation and the National Academy of Sciences for oil-spill response and habitat rehabilitation.

Transocean has also agreed to pay $1 billion in fines for civil violations of the Clean Water Act, but that settlement must be approved separately by another judge. The settlement agreements were announced in early January.

Transocean was the owner of the drilling rig that exploded in April 2010, killing 11 workers and triggering the largest offshore oil spill in U.S. history.

Oil giant BP PLC (BP, BP.LN), which was leasing the rig to drill an exploratory well, agreed to pay $4.5 billion in November to settle all criminal and some civil charges in the case.

BP still faces what could be many billions of dollars in fines for violating the Clean Water Act, as well as billions of dollars in payments under the Natural Resources Damages Assessment process. The first phase of a civil trial over culpability in the accident is scheduled to begin before a federal judge in New Orleans on Feb. 25.

Transocean is also a party in that civil lawsuit, but only faces claims from Gulf Coast businesses and individuals who previously settled with BP. Transocean has argued it is indemnified by most of those claims through its drilling contract with BP.

Was positives:

Transocean: Neue Verträge oder Verlängerungen im Volumen von 530 Mio USD

Die Ölbohrgesellschaft Transocean hat seit Mitte Januar aus neuen oder verlängerten Verträgen einen Auftragszuwachs von rund 530 Mio USD verzeichnet. Die erwarteten Ausfallzeiten für Ölplattformen im Jahr 2013 haben sich gleichzeitig um 136 Tage erhöht. In den Ausfallzeiten für das Jahr 2013 sind laut dem Unternehmen auch 90 Tage für Unterhaltsarbeiten der Förderanlage "Cajun Express" und 75 Tage für die auf 2013 von 2014 vorgezogenen Werftarbeiten an der "GSF Galaxy I".

OK, so on 1/17/13 fleet summary report out of service days increased by a net of 205 day, including 253 days  to reactivate the Sedco 712 in anticipation of potential contracts. What's wrong with this when on 2/14/13 flees summary report show that Sedco 712 was awarded a 3 yrs. contract worth $416 million as anticipated? Also, on 2/14/13 fleet summary report show a net 136 days due to shipyard accelaration into 2013 from 2014 on the GSF Galaxy !. This is a wash since it is pay nor or later, right? I don't see anything wrong.
