Leider habe ich Dein Posting über Verticalnet nicht gelesen, aber etwas gefunden, was nicht gerade ganz frisch ist, jedoch gut genug um ein Investement noch mal gründlich zu überdenken.

Ich bin im Besitz von VerticalNet-Aktien (WKN: 919 020).

Haben sie eventuell Informationen, was das Überleben

dieser Firma angeht, und wie es mit der Zusammenarbeit mit Microsoft aussieht ?

Ist mit einer Firmenpleite zu rechnen oder hat VerticalNet noch genügend Kapital, um eine Umstrukturierung vorzunehmen, so dass wieder Anschluss an Ariba oder Commerce One gefunden werden kann?

Antwort:

VerticalNet verfügt per Ende 2000 noch über liquide Mittel bzw. kurzfristige Anlagen im Wert von etwa 145 Mio.$ - demgegenüber stehen langfristige Verbindlichkeiten in Höhe von etwa 137 Mio.$. Für das laufende Jahr erwartet das Unternehmen Nettoverluste von 60 bis 70 Mio.$. Aufgrund der weiterhin schwachen US-Konjunktur und der zunehmenden Konkurrenz könnte sich die finanzielle Lage eher weiter verschlechtern.

Microsoft hält zwar nach wie vor eine kleine Beteiligung an dem Unternehmen, dass weitere Engagement des Softwareriesen hält sich derzeit jedoch in Grenzen.

Insgesamt ist die Lage von VerticalNet nicht nur aus finanzieller Sicht kritisch. Neue Kapitalgeber dürften in der aktuellen Marktsituation nur schwer zu finden sein. Auch die wachsende Konkurrenz in Form von Ariba & Co. wird das Unternehmen weiter belasten.
