White Rock, B.C.- New Oroperu Resources Inc. (TSX Venture: ORO) (“New Oroperu” or the “Company”) is pleased to announce that it has received a progress report on activities on its Tres Cruces project, located in North-Central Peru, by Minera Barrick Misquichilca S.A. (“Barrick”). The Tres Cruces project is a 100% company owned project subject to an option agreement with Barrick. Under the terms of the agreement, in order to exercise the option Barrick must pay for all expenditures up to a production decision. The Company retains a 30% interest. The Company’s share of production costs are financed by Barrick. Additionally, the Company retains 1 ½ % NSR royalty of which US$1,000,000 which is to be paid in advance at the time of a production decision. To maintain the option Barrick must pay US$250,000 to the Company on May 31st each year until a production decision is made.

Barrick states in their report the following:

Highlights

Definition Drilling underway to bring the known mineralization zones to Measured and Indicated categories as well as to collect representative samples from the four principal zones for continued metallurgical testing.

19 Diamond drill holes completed during the month of March for a total of 3548 meters drilled.

Drill Program

The current drill program (5295 meters) has a primary objective of passing the known mineralized zones to Measured and Indicated categories as well as to collect sufficient representative samples from the principal mineralized zones in order to advance metallurgical testing of these. All drill cores are split in half with the first half sent for standard analysis. All samples are prepared at Lagunas Norte (crushed and pulverized) and sent for outside analysis to ALS Chemex lab in Lima. QAQC samples (blanks, standards and duplicates) are included in every batch.

Metallurgical samples from the second half of the drill cores will be sent for flotation test work as well as for CIL bottle roll testing. Sulfide content determined by LECO analysis. It is anticipated that tails from the flotation work will also be tested for CIL recovery to optimize recovery.

Planned Activities

The current diamond drill program may be expanded depending on results obtained after completion of the first phase. Geotechnical drilling (7 diamond drill holes) is also planned and should be completed near the end of April.

Sometime in May we plan on drilling some 13 holes for piezometer installations with a reverse circulation drill after completion of drill programs at Lagunas Norte.

Permit applications is also being presented to the MEM (Ministry of Energy and Mines) for further exploration and condemnation drilling around know mineralization in the general area of the project. The “final” definition of these targets will follow a geophysical program consisting mainly of IP and review of results from the current drilling program. It is anticipated that this work could start as early as July depending on permitting and social considerations.

Environmental and Social baseline studies should start in late May.”

The results of Barrick’s activities on the Tres Cruces project will be reported from time to time as the Company receives information. This initial phase of work to complete a new measured and indicated resource base on additional drilling, more comprehensive metallurgical test work, engineering, environmental and social baseline studies is an important first step towards any production decision.

Prior to this Barrick work, the Company had reported a measured and indicated resource of 34.5 million tones grading 1.59 g/t., about 1,700,000 m oz. gold. These resources were calculated and reported to the Company by Battle Mountain Gold in 1999. The Company’s qualified person reviewed the data and interviewed the Battle Mountain personnel responsible for the calculation and determined that it was according to industry standards at the time. The details are in the Company’s NI 43-101 report “Summary Report of the Tres Cruces Property dated July 25 2002” and filed on SEDAR, www.sedar.com, on July 31 2002. These resources were determined after considering nearly 36,000 meters of drilling.

The Company notes that prior drilling encountered high grade intercepts in deeper parts of two drill holes showing visible gold. This combined with other alteration observations and deep breccias suggest deeper exploration potential for higher grade feeders within the low sulphidation system. This remains untested.

The Company looks forward to Barrick’s continued evaluation. The close proximity (12 Km.) of the Tres Cruces deposit to Barrick’s Lagunas Norte (Alto Chicama) operating mine will present common operating synergies which could enhance the economics of the Tres Cruces deposit.

New Oroperu optionee drills 5,773 m at Tres Cruces

2007-07-16 17:38 ET - News Release

Mr. Wayne Livingstone reports

TRES CRUCES PROJECT UPDATE

New Oroperu Resources Inc. has recently received an update report from Minera Barrick Misquichilca S.A. on recent exploration and development work on the company's Tres Cruces project in north-central Peru. Barrick has completed a phase of definition diamond drilling consisting of 5,773 metres of drilling. The samples from this phase of drilling were prepared at Barrick's Lagunas Norte facility and assayed at ALS Chemex in Lima. After Barrick completes a quality-assurance/quality-control program on the assay data it will be made available to the company.

Meanwhile, Barrick is continuing its program of geotechnical and piezometric drilling on the Tres Cruces property.

Barrick is also planning another two-phase program of exploration and condemnation drilling on the property. The initial phase is planned for 40 drill holes (about 7,350 metres). This would be followed by a second phase of 91 drill holes (about 15,850 metres). Barrick is planning on completing geophysical surveys prior to the completion of this drilling.

The company is pleased to see this level of activity on its 100-per-cent-owned project (subject to 1-1/2-per-cent net smelter return (NSR)).

Barrick has an option to earn a 70-per-cent interest by paying all exploration costs to a production decision. The company's 30-per-cent interest would be financed by Barrick subject to certain financial considerations.

K. Wayne Livingstone, president and chief executive officer, exploration geologist, states: "It is exciting to see the advancements made by Barrick on our Tres Cruces project. Barrick's expertise is important to the development of the project."

New Oroperu partner Barrick continues Cruces drilling

2007-10-25 17:23 ET - News Release

Mr. K. Wayne Livingstone reports

DEFINITION DRILLING AT TRES CRUCES CONTINUES TO EXPAND MINERAL RESOURCES

New Oroperu Resources Inc. provides further information about drilling at its Tres Cruces project in north-central Peru by Minera Barrick Misquichilca S.A.

There have been two campaigns of diamond drilling reported this year. The results of a 5,508-metre diamond drill program were announced in the company's news in Stockwatch on June 18, 2007, which expanded the area of prior known mineralization. In Stockwatch on Aug. 8, 2007, the company released results of a 5,776-metre diamond drill program. This program encountered better grades and also extended mineralization beyond the historical resources.

The success of these drilling programs has led to the need for additional drilling. The current reverse circulation drill program was designed to continue the infill and delineation work. This program started in mid-July and was planned for about 7,300 metres in 40 holes. This phase of drilling has already drilled over 40 holes and is still in progress and may continue until the end of this year.

At the moment, drill results on this continuing program have not been received by the company. Also, assay results for 2,600 metres in 13 holes drilled for geotechnical purposes are still pending. The company will report on these results when received from Barrick, after its final review of the quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) program.

To summarize:

Barrick has drilled 11,284 metres of diamond drilling in addition to the over 36,000 metres drilled in previous years. Geotechnical drilling has been completed with 20 holes in 3,925 metres.

The current reverse circulation infill and delineation drill program is still in progress with over 40 holes and over 7,000 metres drilled.

An IP geophysical program is currently in progress and additional drilling is planned following completion of this survey. An environmental baseline study is also under way. An updated resource calculation by Barrick is planned, subject to completion of infill drilling and evaluation of the geotechnical drilling.

The Tres Cruces project is a 100-per-cent-company-owned project subject to a 1.5-per-cent net smelter returns royalty and subject to an option agreement with Barrick. Under the terms of the agreement, in order to exercise the option Barrick must pay for all expenditures up to a production decision. The company retains a 30-per-cent interest. The company's share of production costs are financed by Barrick. Additionally the company retains a 2-per-cent NSR royalty of which $1-million (U.S.) is to be paid in advance at the time of a production decision. To maintain the option Barrick must pay $250,000 (U.S.) to the company on May 31 each year until a production decision is made. Barrick has made the most recent payment.

Prior to this current Barrick work, the company had reported a measured and indicated resource of 34.5 million tonnes grading 1.59 grams per tonne, about 1.7 million ounces of gold. These historical resources were calculated and reported to the company by Battle Mountain Gold in 1999. To prepare an independent technical report the company's qualified person reviewed the data and interviewed the Battle Mountain personnel responsible for the calculation and determined that it was according to industry standards at the time. The details are in the company's NI 43-101 report summary report of the Tres Cruces property dated July 25, 2002, and filed on SEDAR, on July 31, 2002. These resources are determined to be historical with respect to the implementation of NI 43-101 and as such are deemed not NI 43-101 compliant and are not to be relied on.

The company is pleased with the progress on the Tres Cruces property. It appears that the infill drilling and delineation of the limits of mineralization could continue to year-end. It is apparent that the close proximity of Tres Cruces to Barrick's Lagunas Norte operations is enhancing the evaluation and development of the company's 100-per-cent-owned Tres Cruces project.

"This is an exciting time for the company and the company looks forward to the continued evaluation and the updated resource calculation in the short term," stated New Oroperu president Wayne Livingstone.

We seek Safe Harbor.

New Oroperu JV drills 89.5 m of 2.65 g/t Au

2008-03-04 05:48 ET - News Release

Mr. K. Wayne Livingstone reports

NEW OROPERU RESOURCES INC.: BARRICK DRILLS 24,462 M IN 2007 AT TRES CRUCES

New Oroperu Resources Inc. is reviewing the status of drilling on its Tres Cruces project in north-central Peru by Minera Barrick Misquichilca S.A.

In 2007, Barrick completed a 5,776-metre diamond drill program on the Tres Cruces project, which was reported by the company in its Aug. 8, 2007, news issued in Stockwatch. Following the diamond drilling Barrick initiated reverse-circulation drilling for the purpose of in-fill drilling and testing the limits of the existing mineralization, as well as some condemnation drilling. In addition, a program of geotechnical drilling was completed comprising 3,925 metres in 20 holes.

The Tres Cruces project is a 100-per-cent company owned project subject to a 1-1/2 per cent net smelter return royalty and subject to an option agreement with Barrick. To maintain the option Barrick must pay $250,000 (U.S.) to the company on May 31 each year (2007 -- paid) until a production decision is made.

Prior to Barrick's option, the company had reported a measured and indicated resource of 34.5 million tonnes grading 1.59 grams per tonne, about 1.7 million ounces of gold. This historical resource estimate was made and reported to the company by Battle Mountain Gold in 1999. To prepare an independent technical report the company's qualified person reviewed the data and interviewed the Battle Mountain personnel responsible for the estimate and determined that it was according to industry standards at the time. The details are in the company's National Instrument 43-101 report "summary report of the Tres Cruces property dated July 25, 2002," and filed on SEDAR, on July 31, 2002. These resources are determined to be historical with respect to the implementation of National Instrument 43-101 and as such are deemed not NI 43-101 compliant and not to be relied on. All holes drilled by Barrick subsequent to this report are not included in the resource estimate.

The table below summarizes Barrick's drilling for the Tres Cruces project in 2007. The table summarizes the assays from the geotechnical holes drilled in 2007. The assay results of the latest reverse-circulation drilling are almost complete and the better assay intervals received to date are reported in the table below.

Drill hole RTC-255 is notable because of its continuous length of mineralization and better grade, 228.0 m grading 2.95 grams per tonne gold. It also contains a 13.0 m section grading 16.17 grams per tonne gold with 67.7 grams per tonne silver. The presence of significant silver values is notable as the first occurrence of continuous silver mineralization.

Some of the deep holes completed by Barrick encountered gold and silver mineralization as deep as 350 metres before technical difficulties caused termination of the hole. There is potential for deeper mineralization within the Tres Cruces low sulphidation system such as high-grade feeder zones known to exist elsewhere in this type of deposit.

Barrick has also completed an IP survey and is planning, concurrent with further definition and condemnation drilling, to test any new geophysical targets. Work on baseline environmental studies is in progress. Additional samples have been submitted for metallurgical testwork. A progress report on this work is expected. A new resource estimation by Barrick is currently in progress.

The company is advised by Barrick that it is continuing to delineate the resource and explore the deeper targets as well as other studies necessary for the evaluation of the deposit. The company will report on these results when received from Barrick.

K. Wayne Livingstone, New Oroperu's president, states: "The continued successful drilling by Barrick on the company's 100-per-cent-owned Tres Cruces project is an important step in its development. We look forward to the completion of the next steps necessary for the advancement of our project. The close proximity of Barrick's Lagunas Norte operating mine with the Tres Cruces project will permit certain economic synergies for its development."

Dr. Peter A. Christopher, PEng, a technical adviser to the company is the qualified person responsible for reviewing this news release.
