Hey möchte euch folgenden Wert vorstellen: Grange Resource ltd WKN: 917447

http://www.grangeresources.com.au/clients/grange/..._7_April_2011.pdf

hier das corporate video von grange:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=asOxztY3yqI

http://www.grangeresources.com.au/

http://asx.com.au/asxpdf/20110510/pdf/41ykpdksjvjq63.pdf

09.06.11 15:52
#9
Savage River:
Verkaufspreis pro t: ~200$ (geschätzt, aktueller Verkaufspreis ~220$/t)
Operative Kosten pro t: ~100$ (aktuelle op: Kosten laut Prädentation ~96$/t)

jährliche Produktion: 2.000.000t (erklärtes Ziel für 2011)

jährlicher operat. Gewinn: 200.000.000$

Southdown Definitive Feasibility Study

Southdown Definitive Feasibility Study
Fully Approved and Funded

Grange Resources Limited (“Grange” or the “Company”) is pleased to announce that both owners of the Southdown project Sojitz Resources & Technology Pty Ltd and Grange Resources have approved the funding and execution of the Project Definitive Feasibility Study (DFS).

The DFS is targeted for completion in the first quarter of 2012, and is estimated to cost A$110m. Grange Resources will fund its 70% share of the study costs from existing cash reserves.

Managing Director, Russell Clark said “as a result of already having a highly profitable magnetite project at Savage River in Tasmania, we can fully fund this DFS work without needing to go back to the market. This is one of the significant advantages we have over our competitors. Savage River is performing well and generating healthy cash margins.”

Specific Definitive Study work will include:
• Detailed  engineering  of  concentrator,  port  facilities,  power  transmission,  pipeline, desalination plant and pellet plant facilities;
• Securing engineering and tender packages for long lead items;
• Further resource and reserve drilling;
• Geotechnical drilling in Albany port;

• Water permit approval;
• Completion of land access arrangements and
• Mine design and scheduling.

The ability to complete of the DFS so quickly reflects the advanced nature of the prefeasibility study where:

• Resources and reserves are in place;
• Power line easements are in place;
• Major mine and port environmental permits are in place;
• Metallurgical testwork is advanced and the concentrator flowsheet is finalised;
• Land access is very advanced.

Prefeasibility modelling indicates that the Australian based project will cost A$2.57 billion.
This will complete the mine site preparation, the concentrator facility and associated infrastructure required to load and ship approximately 10 million tonnes per annum of high grade magnetite concentrate containing 69% iron. Operating costs per tonne of concentrate
produced and loaded are estimated to be less than A$60 per tonne.

The Southdown Magnetite Project is a joint venture (JV) between Grange Resources Ltd (Grange) (70%), and Sojitz Resources & Technology Pty Ltd (Sojitz) (30%), wholly‐owned subsidiary of Sojitz Corporation, a Japanese global trading company operating in various industries and services.

mögl. Szenario 2015

18.06.11 15:33
#11

Man hat also schon Abnehmer.

Szenarion 2015:

Savage River:
Verkaufspreis pro t: ~200$ (geschätzt, aktueller Verkaufspreis ~220$/t)
Operative Kosten pro t: ~100$ (aktuelle op: Kosten laut Prädentation ~96$/t)

jährliche Produktion: 2.500.000t (laut akt. Präsentation)

jährlicher operat. Gewinn: 250.000.000$

abzüglich geschätzten 40% für Steuern, Abschreibungen, usw (geschätzt)

= 150.000.000$ Erlös

Southdown:
Verkaufspreis pro t: ~200$ (geschätzt)
Operative Kosten pro t: ~80$ (laut PFS <75$)

jährliche Produktion: 8.000.000t

jährlicher operat. Gewinn: 960.000.000$

abzüglich geschätzten 40% für Steuern, Abschreibungen, usw (geschätzt)

= 576.000.000$ Erlös

Savage River + Southdown:

= 726.000.000$ Erlös
/1.500.000.000 shares

=0,484 Gewinn pro share

KGV von 10 -> KZ von 4,84$

30 June 2011 ASX:GRR GRANGE GRANTED PERMIT FOR PRODUCTION INCREASE AT SOUTHDOWN Grange Resources Limited (Grange or the Company), Australia’s leading magnetite producer, is pleased to announce it has received Environment Protection Authority (EPA) approval to expand its previous mining permit by 47%, from a production rate of 6.8 million tonnes per annum to 10 million tonnes per annum of magnetite concentrate production. Grange Managing Director and CEO, Russell Clark, said “The permit amendment was a necessary requirement to allow us to produce at the expanded capacity of 10 million tonnes per annum for magnetite concentrate production. The amendment means that the major permits required for the mine area and Albany port operations are fully secured, providing further confidence for the success of the Southdown project.” “Our existing operations at Savage River are performing well and we continue to enjoy near record prices for our product and excellent margins.

The existing cash flow together with our the extensive operational and technical experience at Savage River will help minimise the execution risk at Southdown - a key difference compared to some of our peers developing projects currently.” “It’s important to note that recent announcements regarding the potential Oakajee port and associated mining operations have absolutely no bearing on the activities at Southdown. Southdown is in a favourable location in the South West of Western Australia, with an established port, nearby power generation and ample water supply, so the critical infrastructure solutions are in place. In addition a ready labour force is available in and around Albany and we will not be competing for labour in the Perth market.

An extensive drilling program is currently underway to increase confidence levels and tonnage to the existing 654 million tonne resource, containing 388 million tonnes of reserves. In addition the product quality will be high grade, low contaminant pellet feed, a critical requirement of the steel industry as hematite feed grades reduce and contaminant levels increase. High quality pellet feed helps the steelmakers maintain blast furnace productivity.” -ENDSFor more information, please contact: Investors: Russell Clark Managing Director & CEO Grange Resources Limited + 61 8 9327 7901 Or visit www.grangeresources.com.au Media: Eliza Gee Buchan Consulting +61 3 9866 4722/ +61 432166431 egee@bcg.com.au.

finance.ninemsn.com.au/newsbusiness/aap/...toll-treating-talks

Shares in Grange Resources rose after the iron ore producer said it was in talks with companies near its Savage River mine in Tasmania about possibly providing processing services.

Grange shares were up four cents, or eight per cent, at 54 cents at 1529 AEST.

Grange, which produces magnetite iron ore pellets, said the talks were being held with several companies that hold magnetite iron ore deposits in Tasmania's north-west region.

Some of these had not yet been brought into production.

"We are working together with the aim of reaching agreement to use the Savage River downstream processing and distribution infrastructure to add vale for the benefit of both Grange and the new producers," Grange said in a statement on Tuesday.

"This has the potential to increase production at Savage River by between 200,000 and 300,000 tonnes per annum of magnetite concentrate as soon as 2012."

Chief executive Russell Clark said an announcement about the progress of the talks was expected in coming weeks.

Mr Clark said charging the companies a toll to treat their ore was an option to them having to build their own costly processing infrastructure.

"I think we all realise there are synergies to be had," he told AAP.

"The specific mechanics of what would happen haven't been finalised by any means."

Grange also on Tuesday reported June quarter pellet shipments of 517,404 tonnes, up from 209,798 tonnes for the March quarter, but down from 581,357 tonnes in the June quarter of 2010.

The company was forced to feed lower grade ores through the concentrator after a rock slide last month prompted the company to bring forward remediation work on the east wall of the main pit.

Costs of pellet production doubled to $123.67 a tonne due to factors including longer ore haulage distances and additional equipment.

The company reiterated its full year production and sales target of two million tonnes.

Kursschwäche

03.08.11 11:42
#20

Erstens: Sehr Schwache Aussies.

Grange Resources considers sale to ease project burden

From: Dow Jones Newswires

GRANGE Resources is considering selling part of its stake in the Southdown iron ore project in Western Australia to help fund the proposed $2.57 billion export venture.

Chief executive Russell Clark said that if necessary, the Perth-based company would also sell part of Savage River, its already functioning iron ore mine in Tasmania.

Grange owns 70 per cent of Southdown and Japan's Sojitz holds the remainder.

The mine is expected to start operating in 2014 and produce 10 million tonnes of magnetite annually for at least 19 years.

Magnetite is a type of low-grade iron ore used to develop steel-making pellets, and is more expensive to produce than the conventional high-grade variant.

Sojitz is also in talks to sell part of its 30 per cent stake in Southdown to help share development costs, sources said.

"We recognise it's a big project and we're not a big company," Mr Clark said. "By selling down part of Southdown, up to 30 per cent perhaps, you immediately reduce your debt and equity requirements by that amount."

.
. .
There was no formal asset sale process under way at present, with the company likely to need most of next year to bed down Southdown's debt component because of Europe's rocky credit markets, Mr Clark said.

JPMorgan, which recently started coverage of Grange, places a value of $275 million on the Southdown asset. The estimated $2.57bn cost of developing the venture compares with Grange's market value of about $600m.

Grange said in October that Standard Chartered Bank had been appointed to advise on its debt requirements.

"I still believe the bulk of the funding will come out of Japan and China," Mr Clark said

Grange Resources has upgraded the resource at its Southdown magnetite iron ore project near Albany following a $8.3 million drilling program.

The company said its total mineral resource at the project had increased from 654mt in December 2010 to 698mt last month.

Managing director Russell Clark said the initial results of the drilling program had confirmed and improved the quantity and confidence of the mineral resource at Southdown.

"The increase in measured resources is expected to flow into improved ore reserves, which will boost financiers' and investors' confidence in the overall project," he said.

Grange is expected to release the findings of a definitive feasibility study for Southdown before the end of March.

The project is a joint venture between Grange (70 per cent) and Japan's Sojitz (30 per cent).

Grange is majority owned by China's Shagang Group (66 per cent)

The company has existing operations producing magnetite pellets in north west Tasmania.
Grange shares up 2.5 cents, or 4.9 per cent, to 53.5 cents at 11am.

(targeting overall resource about 1Bt)

"During the quarter, the Company received confirmation from the Minister for Climate Change
and Energy Efficiency that the production of magnetite concentrate will be eligible for assistance
under the Jobs and Competitiveness Program in the moderately emissions-intensive category.
Grange continues to work with the Department of Climate Change regarding its submission for
transitional assistance for the production of iron ore pellets."

auszug vom beitrag "merrills on the quarterly" vom user "gamezone":
"Dividend policy and Southdown finance update
(i) Dividend outlook +ve. We expect a further 2c/share dividend in Feb. We expect GRR to distribute ~25% of free cash flow generated at Savage River. (ii) Southdown project update. Debt markets are proving tougher and it is reasonable to assume we will also see some capex creep. Debt could come from a number of Chinese development banks with GRR looking for $800m-$1bn equity. 20-25% share will be from cash holdings with the balance likely being: 1) equity sell down at JV level and 2) sale of portion in Savage River. Least preferred option, in our view = raising equity on market."

THE state's environmental watchdog has outlined a tough set of conditions for Grange Resources' plans to build a desalination plant near Albany.

The Environmental Protection Authority (EPA) today released its review of plans by the Perth-based resources company to build and operate the Cape Riche desalination plant.

The plant – to take up about 65ha of land - will be located 5km west of Cape Riche, with the seawater and pump station about 500m east of Cheyne Inlet. A brine outfall pipeline will be located on the south side of Cape Riche.

It is expected to supply an increased 12 gigalitres of water each year to Grange’s Southdown magnetite iron ore project, about 90km from Albany.

EPA chairman Paul Vogel said today that given the “pristine local environment”, the authority had recommended a raft of conditions.

“This proposal has the potential to impact marine fauna and habitats, marine water quality and terrestrial flora and fauna through activities including blasting to construct the intake channel and clearing of vegetation for the pipeline construction,” Dr Vogel said.

“The conditions the EPA has recommended include measures to maintain marine water quality and minimise impacts to marine habitats and fauna.”

Also included in the conditions is the management of fauna entrapment as a result of trenching, as well as preventing the spread or introduction of dieback and weed species, he said.

Dr Vogel said other key factors considered were the processes surrounding the decommissioning of the mine site as well as the impacts on the social surrounds.

“The EPA visited Cape Riche last year and understands the area is highly valued by the community for its indigenous heritage, environmental values and recreational use,” he said.

“This proposal is unlikely to significantly impact the social surrounds, however, conditions will require that exclusion zones ensure walking corridors along Cape Riche are not completely blocked off at any time during construction.

“The proponent has also committed to minimising any impact, including establishing a 24-hour complaints line.”

The EPA report is open for a two-week public appeal period.

Southdown is a joint venture between Grange and Japan’s Sojitz, and is expected to cost $2.57 billion to develop.

Shares in Grange were down 1c, or 1.68 per cent, to 58.5c at 1148 AWST.

Southdown Magnetite Project Resouces Hit One Billion Tonnes

Grange Resources Limited (“Grange” or the “Company”) is pleased to announce that, following the completion of an A$8.3 million drilling program, the Mineral Resources at the Southdown Magnetite Project (“Project”) have been increased by 75 per cent to 1.2 billion tonnes.

Grange Managing Director, Russell Clark, said: “We recently announced an upgrade to the resources on the Western Tenements of the project. We have now completed the analysis of the drilling on the Eastern Tenements and are pleased to advise that the resource for the project now exceeds a billion tonnes.”

“The drilling program was undertaken along the full 12 kilometre strike length of the mineralisation and comprised 85 holes with 22,727m of drilling. The increase in the Mineral Resource will provide greater confidence in the longevity of the Southdown Project, well beyond the life envisaged in the feasibility studies, which have been focused on the Western Tenements.”

Grange up on record profit

Shares in Grange Resources jumped after iron ore pellet producer posted a record full-year profit of $216.6 million and announced final unfranked dividend of three-cents-a-share.

The result was achieved on revenue of $410.4 million.

While iron ore pellet sales were down on the previous year on lower production at its Tasmanian operations, the company benefitted from a 30 per cent increase in the average sale price of its pellets.

Grange Resources managing director Russell Clark said the company had produced 1.98 million tonnes of iron ore pellets in 2011, making it Australia's biggest magnetite producer.

Grange said the definitive feasibility study for its Southdown magnetite project near Albany was near completion. The resource at the project had increased to one billion tonnes.

The company nearly doubled its cash reserves in the period to $203.1 million and said it had no net debt.

Grange is 66 per cent owned by China's Shagang International Holdings.
Grange shares were up four cents, or 6.78 per cent, to 63 cents at 9.05am.

so nochmal kurz zum financial year 2011. EPS von 18,8ct + dividene von kummuliert 5 cent. was für ein jahr!! allerdings muss man sich genauer angucken wie das eps zusammengesetzt ist. drin enthalten nämlich 52,1M$ aus 2010 (Revenues also include $52.1 million associated with sales made under interim pricing arrangements in 2010.) und ein fetter tax benefit (Recognition of a $107.1 million benefit as a result of a merger of the Grange Group’s multiple tax consolidated groups on 6 January 2011. This merger benefit is non-cash and will be realised over the remaining life of the Group’s operations in Tasmania.)

Kobe Steel Buys into Western Australia Iron Ore Project

By David Winning

Japan’s Kobe Steel has stepped forward as the buyer of a 9.9% stake in the 2.57 billion Australian dollar (US$2.69 billion) Southdown iron ore project in Western Australia state, after concluding a deal with trading house Sojitz.

Kobe Steel has also secured rights to take 1.5 million tons of magnetite, a lower grade of iron ore, from Sojitz and will use this to supply its Kakogawa steelworks in western Japan’s Hyogo prefecture.

Deal Journal Australia reported late last year that Sojitz was in advanced talks to sell part of its 30% stake in Southdown to share development costs, and was handling the transaction in-house.

“In the future, high-grade iron ore will decrease and iron ore prices are forecast to remain high,” Kobe Steel said in a statement Thursday. “By participating in this project, Kobe Steel will be able to further increase its iron ore interests. This will help Kobe Steel secure necessary resources and increase the competitiveness of its steel business.”

Magnetite is more common than the hematite that comprises much of the global trade in iron ore, but is more expensive to produce. Whereas hematite has an iron content of more than 60% and can be used directly in blast furnaces when making steel, the iron content of magnetite is often below 50% and it needs to be processed first.

The remaining 70% interest in Southdown is held by ASX-listed Grange Resources, which is also exploring the potential to bring in a new investor to help fund the project.

In a statement Jan. 3, Grange said it “anticipates considering a range of equity funding options to fund its Southdown project interest. Asset sales may potentially be one of the elements in the project finance mix.”

The Southdown project aims to start up within three years and produce 10 million tons annually for at least 19 years. Grange says early studies suggest it would be able to produce magnetite concentrates with an iron content of 69% for less than A$60 a ton, which would then be turned into iron pellets costing less than A$75 a ton excluding shipping from Australia to a Malaysian pellet plant.

Grange gets Japanese backing for Southdown

Grange gets Japanese backing for Southdown

Grange Resources' plan to get a $2.6 billion magnetite project near Albany off the ground has received a big boost after one of the world's biggest steel mills, Kobe Steel, agreed to become a major investor.

Kobe is thought to have paid in the order of $50 million for an indirect 9.9 per cent stake in the Southdown project. In the process Kobe has broken up the Chinese steel industry's control of WA's billion-dollar magnetite sector.

Kobe's investment is a subsidiary of Japanese trading house Sojitz, which owns 30 per cent of Southdown. Perth-based Grange Resources owns 70 per cent.

The Japanese giant, which has pellet plants suited to processing Southdown's 69 per cent magnetite concentrate, will also commit to buying 15 per cent of the project's 10 million tonne a year output. The Southdown offtake will increase Kobe's control over its iron ore supply from 7 per cent to 20 per cent.

Neither Kobe nor Sojitz would disclose the value of the Southdown buy-in, which analysts have put at $50 million to $80 million. Kobe will have to foot its pro-rata share of Southdown's development cost.

News of Kobe's move on Southdown came as WA's biggest iron ore producer, Rio Tinto, sold its minority shareholding in Grange, ending a long association with Southdown.

It is understood Rio was behind massive trading in Grange on Wednesday as it offloaded 18 million shares, at 60¢ each, for $10.8 million. The stock went to institutions and should enhance the free float of the tightly held Grange.

Grange managing director Russell Clark would not comment last night on the share trading.

But he welcomed Kobe to Southdown, describing it as "a very positive step" for the ambitious project.

"I think the broader message is that Southdown is a great project and we have a great strategic partner who recognises that," he said. "Kobe have a pellet plant so receiving high-grade concentrate from Southdown is a positive for them."

The project includes the Southdown mine, a 100km slurry pipeline to Albany, a desalination plant and 280km electricity transmission line. Grange also wants to build a 7mtpa pellet plant in Malaysia, although likely some time after Southdown is completed.

Grange is expected to finalise a definitive feasibility study for Southdown by next month and get environmental approval for the desal plant by May.

The Southdown partners want to make a final investment decision by the end of this year to enable them to be producing concentrate by 2015.
Grange shares fell 4¢ to 59.5¢.

dann scheint ja auch das geheimnis um die 18M shares gelüftet zu sein.. zitat auf deinem post: "It is understood Rio was behind massive trading in Grange on Wednesday as it offloaded 18 million shares, at 60¢ each, for $10.8 million. scheint als ober der vermehrte freefloat sich schon bemerkbar macht^^ knapp ne stunde is der handel offen und schon ein volumen von 23,2M!

"Grange Resources Ltd (GRR)
Share Price: $0.60
Recommendation: BUY

News
• Kobe Steel acquires 33% of Sojitz Resources & Technology - the holder of Sojitz Corporation’s 30% interest in the Southdown Project
• This will give Kobe Steel a 9.9% indirect interest in the Southdown Project
• Kobe has also agreed with Sojitz Corporation to off take 1.5Mt of magnetite concentrate for use at Kobe’s Kakogawa Works pellet plant
• Kobe’s release mentions only the Southdown project and not any other investments/assets
• No price is disclosed but industry commentator www.resourceintelligence.net has reported an investment amount of ¥25B (cA$285M)

What does it mean
• Press reports some months ago alluded to a potential sell-down by Sojitz so in one sense this shouldn’t be a great surprise
• GRR has flagged it is considering a sell-down of its 70% share in the project as one option for funding its equity share of the $2.6B project
• The Southdown project DFS is expected at the end of this quarter
• Kobe’s investment at this time is a strong support signal for project’s viability
• In our valuation, GRR’s share of the Southdown project only comprises 25¢/share ($289M) of our $1.06 price target
• The current GRR share price understates our valuation of GRR’s Savage River operation (66¢/share) and substantial net cash position (14¢/share)
• Even a conservative read-through of the Kobe announcement highlights strong Southdown project support and, potentially, substantial valuation upside for GRR
• We retain our BUY recommendation and $1.06 price target

Australia’s largest iron ore pellet producer, may seek talks with steel mills in Asia including Kobe Steel Ltd. (5406) to invest in its A$2.6 billion ($2.7 billion) Southdown project.

Grange will consider several funding options for the project, including a stake sale, by the end of April, Russell Clark, chief executive officer of the Perth-based company, said today by phone. Grange, which owns 70 percent of the project in Western Australia, could sell another 30 percent stake, he said.

Kobe, Japan’s fourth-largest mill, this month agreed to buy an indirect 9.9 percent stake in Southdown from Sojitz Corp. (2768) for 25 billion yen ($298 million). Steelmakers including Kobe and ArcelorMittal (MT), the world’s biggest producer, are looking to secure iron ore and coking coal resources as increasing purchases by China and India tighten global supplies.

“We have spoken with Kobe, but we haven’t committed on any formal process,” said Clark in an interview. “One of the outcomes of our definitive feasibility study could be that we elect to divest some of the project, and then we would be targeting” companies such as Kobe, he said.

Kobe Steel spokesman Ryuichi Nakagami declined to comment.

Grange, whose biggest shareholder is Jiangsu Shagang Group Co., China’s largest closely held steelmaker, rose 1.6 percent to 62.5 cents at the close of trading in Sydney. Kobe bought its stake in Southdown by acquiring a 33 percent stake in a Sojitz unit that holds a 30 percent stake in the project.

‘Strategic Partner’

A number of Asian companies could potentially look at taking a stake in Southdown, Clark said.

“It needs to be a strategic partner with deep pockets and a need for” a long-term sales accord, he said yesterday. “Kobe is a good fit.”

The Southdown mine, located 90 kilometers (56 miles) northeast of Albany Port, is slated to produce about 10 million metric tons of iron ore a year starting 2015, according to Grange. The company also produces iron ore pellets from the Savage River mine in Australia’s Tasmania state.

Southdown’s estimated A$2.6 billion cost may rise “slightly” following the completion of the financial study, Clark said. The company said last month it expected the definitive report to be finished this quarter. Grange also is considering building a A$941 million pellet plant in Malaysia, he said.

“What we want to do is to get some cash flow from concentrate sales happening, and then look at the market and see whether or not a pellet plant makes sense,” Clark said. “Kobe bought into Sojitz’ share last week and they’re looking for pellet feed.”

Grange, targeting a final investment decision for Southdown at the end of the year, expects to complete debt funding with Chinese and Japanese development banks as well as export credit agencies, he said.

Grange exit unsettles market
Nick Sas, The West Australian July 21, 2012, 12:02 pm

Grange Resources managing director Russell Clark has quit suddenly, throwing into confusion the company's $2.9 billion plan for the Southdown magnetite project in the State's south.

In a surprise move that led Patersons Securities to downgrade the Grange shares to "under review" yesterday, Mr Clark announced he would leave the company after nearly 4 1/2 years at the helm on September 15, following a month-long handover period to Richard Mehan. Mr Mehan quit his role as Jupiter Mines chief executive equally suddenly last month, after just over a year in the role.

Mr Mehan said yesterday there was "no connection" between his departure from Jupiter and his appointment as new Grange chief executive.

Mr Clark's resignation immediately sparked market speculation the well-regarded managing director had fallen out with Grange's controlling Chinese shareholders, who are known to be pushing for a favourable Southdown offtake deal.

Speaking at Grange's Perth office yesterday, Mr Clark said discussions with the board regarding his impending departure had been ongoing for "a while" but he would not give a specific time frame.

Mr Clark said his resignation was triggered by personal reasons, which came after he had "ticked all the boxes" to get the Southdown project mine - 100km north-east of Albany - up and running.

"My work here is done," Mr Clark said. "Yes, we need to finance Southdown, yes we need to build the project, but that's another four or five-year process, and to be frank, it's better for someone else to pick that up and have that."

Grange owns 70 per cent of Southdown and last month conceded it would struggle to fund its share, putting up at least 30 per cent of the project for sale.

Kobe Steel and Sojitz Corp own the other 30 per cent of Southdown.

Mr Clark's sudden resignation created rumblings on the stockmarket yesterday, with Patersons head of research Alex Passmore labelling the move a "negative surprise" that created uncertainty at a crucial time. When asked if he had initially intended to see Southdown through to the end, Mr Clark said he saw himself as a "starter" rather than a "finisher".

He was innundated with inquiries from well-wishers yesterday but Mr Clark said he had no specific plans for the future besides a European holiday and plans to build a house. He said he was proud of his achievements at Grange, which were highlighted by the company's growth from a $100 million company with $10 million in the bank to profitable $525 million mid-tier player with $250 million in the bank.

Grange shares fell 1.5¢ to 45.5¢.

Grange Resources sees another rock slide at Savage River

Grange Resources' Savage River mine has seen a rock slide at its Tasmanian Savage River mine that ran for more than two days.

According to the company "a rock slide commenced on the eastern wall of the North Pit….in the early hours of Wednesday 18 July and concluded early [Friday]".

However as the mine had geotechnical controls in place which notified them of the potential for a wall failure there were no workers or equipment in the area.

"No personnel were exposed to any danger as a result of the slip and no injuries were sustained," Grange stated.

As a result of the incident it has redeployed operations to alternate locations around the mine, with production to be maintained at normal planed levels while its mine plans are reviewed.

The miner said that "at this stage the slip is not expected to have a material adverse effect on the operation and it is anticipated that the 2012 production target is not materially at risk".

Workplace Standards Tasmania was notified soon after the event, and it approved the continuation of operations.

In 2010 the mine recorded another large rockfall at the same area, when around 140 000 cubic tonnes of rock fell into the pit.

Grange explained the latest rockfall event, stating that "the geotechnical environment at Savage River is well understood and the structure is such that slips will occur from time to time"

"Grange Resources Limited (GRR) - BUY

Southdown funding solution remains key

Grange Resources (GRR) today released its June Q report. The company's Savage River operation again provided strong cashflow and remains on track to produce ~2.4Mt of magnetite pellets in CY2012. Cash costs settled to around $95/t which ensured a healthy margin relative to the average pellet price received of $146/t. An improvement in cash costs was achieved through higher mined ore grades and the follow on efficiencies in the concentrator and pellet plant. A DFS was completed during the Q on the Southdown project in Western Australia which demonstrated robust economics. In an effort to soften the capital requirement in developing the project, GRR appointed Deutsche Bank as corporate advisor to sell down at least 30% of the project to a strategic partner. GRR maintained a healthy cash position of $232m, albeit down from last Q largely due to payment of a $34m dividend.

Savage River a robust long term project. The operation is clearly recovering after a pit wall failure caused significant production disruptions last year. With cash costs settling to <$100/t we expect to see solid margins maintained given the nature and premium quality of the pellet product. We are forecasting an NPAT of ~$90m in CY2012 which should see the cash balance of ~$300m by the end of the year. Ongoing solid cashflow is important and provides GRR leverage for developing the Southdown project.

Southdown financing solution due 1H CY2013. We believe a sell-down of up to 30% in the Southdown project could generate ~$250m for GRR. The company plans to utilise proceeds from the sale along with exiting cash balances to fund its development share of the project. Commissioning of the 10Mtpa magnetite concentrate operation is expected mid CY2015 for a capital cost of $2.9bn. We see GRR's in house expertise in magnetite mining as a key to reducing execution risk on the project.

Catalysts. 1) Funding solution and sell down of the Southdown project 2) Maintain cash costs <$100/t at Savage River 3) Robust iron ore prices"

-------

citi hat grange jedoch runtergestuft (aus hotcopper):
"Citi has cut its forecast for earnings for 2012 by 14.1% to 5.5c, and for 2013 by 31.25% to 3.3c. This is due to pellet prices under pressure, and cashflow from Savage river being invested into the marginal Southdown (marginal at Citi's iron ore forecasts). They say a successful sell-down of 30% of Southdown or successful finance will be positive catalysts, but the next issue then is execution over the next few years. Cit has moved from "buy" to "neutral" and the 12-month target has fallen to 50c (was 80c).

Heute gabs nen netten rebound in AUS..

----------

Highlights for the half year ended 30 June 2012 include:

-Continued excellent safety performance at Savage River with no Lost Time Injuries recorded
-Interim dividend of 1.0 cent per share (unfranked) declared
-Net profit after tax of $55.4 million, on revenues from mining operations of $193.6 million and a gross profit from mining operations of $59.8 million
-Net cash inflow from operating activities of $91.9 million.
-Average pellet price of A$157.64 per tonne (US$162.84 per tonne) and C1 cash operating costs of A$102.66 per tonne of pellets produced, supporting continued cash margins
-Cash, term deposits and trade receivables position of $235.0 million as at 30 June 2012. No net debt.
-Southdown Project definitive feasibility study completed, showing the project to have robust economics
-Appointment of global specialist, Deutsche Bank, as a corporate advisor to assist in a partial sell down of Grange’s share of Southdown.
-Southdown ore reserve restated with improved confidence levels
-Advancement of land purchases to secure the necessary land for the Southdown mine, slurry pipelines and associated infrastructure

Grange Resources unfazed by downturn in iron ore price, shares up 10%
Monday, September 10, 2012 by Angela Kean

Grange Resources (ASX: GRR) is on track to sell around 2.3 million tonnes of iron ore pellets during 2012 from its Savage River magnetite iron ore mine in Tasmania, which continues to attract a premium price relative to daily 62% iron ore fines prices.

The news was well received by the market today with shares up 10% to an intra-day high of $0.325 on the exchange of around 8 million shares by mid-afternoon.

Around 2.1 million tonnes of premium 65%-plus iron ore pellets will be produced for the full 2012 year.

Grange is targeting C1 cash operating costs of about A$110 per tonne of pellets produced for the year.

Regular pellet shipments continue according to plan at prices in excess of targeted C1 cash operating costs for 2012.

Current stockpiles are at low levels of about 170,000 tonnes, indicating that production is being sold into the market.

Grange’s cash position remains strong with cash and term deposits in excess of $200 million, while gearing remains low with borrowings of $38 million and no net debt.

The company will pay an interim dividend of $0.01 per share (unfranked) on 2 October 2012.

Meanwhile, work is progressing with Deutsche Bank to secure a strategic partner for the development of the Southdown Magnetite Project, with site visits by interested parties underway.

Grange is looking to sell at least a 30% stake in the project.

Extensive drilling at Southdown has confirmed over 1.2 billion tonnes of Resources and close to 400 million tonnes of Reserves, with the project designed to produce 10 million tonnes per annum of premium magnetite concentrate.

The project remains on target for first production in 2015.

Grange Resources (“Grange” or “the Company”) has delivered a solid operating performance to shareholders despite a period of downward movement in global iron ore prices and operational redesigns and rescheduling following the July 2012 rock slide at Savage River.
Highlights for the September Quarter include:

-Continued excellent safety performance at Savage River with no Lost Time Injuries recorded since July 2010.
-Cash, term deposits and trade receivables of A$210.0 million.
-No net debt and low gearing levels with borrowings of A$36.6 million.
-Product prices averaged US$128.07 per tonne (FOB Port Latta). Savage River pellets continue to attract a premium relative to 62% Fe iron ore fines prices.
-C1 cash operating costs of A$130.47 per tonne of product produced reflect increased costs arising from the July 2012 rock slide at Savage River. Ore was predominantly sourced from alternate locations until a return to the high grade main ore zone in late September 2012.
-Interim dividend of 1.0 cent per share (unfranked) paid to shareholders on 2 October 2012.
-Engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contracts for major construction works for the Southdown Project were submitted by interested parties.

"The AGM was a non event with only 3 shareholders attending.
Judging from the results of the resolutions, they were passed only because the Chinese voted for them, nearly all other votes from retail shareholders were against the reolutions.
Richard Mehan wouldn't be happy with 87,587,450 votes ie. 11% of the vote against his remuneration package, it was only the Chinese who voted for it.
Shareholders have spoken, management now know that they'll need to lift their game."

Grange in a holding pattern
Nick Sas, The West Australian May 9, 2013, 7:19 am

Grange in a holding pattern

With its flagship project on ice and its share price hitting 10-year lows, Grange Resources managing director Richard Mehan has conceded its current situation is not one to promote, and it will continue a holding pattern until conditions improve.

Speaking to shareholders at its general meeting yesterday, Mr Mehan, who has been in the role since September, said in the context of the general negative sentiment surrounding small resource stocks, and its corporate inactivity, it was logical to remain on the sidelines.

Grange operates the small but profitable Savage River magnetite operation in Tasmania, but announced in late November its flagship $2.9 billion Southdown project near Albany would be put on ice until market conditions improved, after it failed to find a strategic partner.

The announcement, along with the September iron ore price meltdown, has correlated into a severe drop in Grange's share price, which hit a 10-year low of 13.5¢ earlier this month.

Mr Mehan, along with chairman Zhiqiang Xi, admitted yesterday they had received concerned calls from shareholders questioning the price demise.

Responding to a question at yesterday's meeting on Grange's lack of marketing strategy from former Grange managing director Russell Clark, who still owns 1.8 million shares in the company, Mr Mehan said if you did not have a good story to tell, it was not the time to talk.

"Frankly the company has had three difficult quarters, particularly in terms of costs (at Savage River)," Mr Mehan said.

"And in December we announced the growth project (Southdown) that we talked about so much, for good reasons, for the previous four years, has been reduced to a minimum expenditure.

"We've been out there talking to people and telling them the company's in good shape, but in terms of being able to announce something that is a great marketing development or opportunity, it's been a very difficult time to do that.

"We have been doing some, but we haven't - in the past eight or nine months - had a great story to tell."
According to Grange, which is 59.5 per cent owned by Chinese steel mill Shagang International Holdings, it has $164 million in cash, term deposits and trade receivables and no net debt.

IO Erholung

Nun muss Gragne liefern..

http://www.theadvocate.com.au/story/2026915/chinese-push-to-cut-pollution-a-boon-for-grange/?cs=87

http://www.abc.net.au/news/2014-01-17/...o-cut-start-up-costs/5205430
