its OraQuick(R) ADVANCE Rapid HIV-1/2 Antibody Test has been awarded a 2004 Best
of What's New award by Popular Science magazine in the Personal Health category.
The award was announced on November 9, 2004, at the Best of What's New Showcase
Event at Vanderbilt Hall in Grand Central Terminal in New York City.

The OraQuick(R) ADVANCE Rapid HIV-1/2 Antibody Test is the first and only U.S.
Food and Drug Administration ("FDA") approved and CLIA (Clinical Laboratory
Improvements Amendments Act of 1988) waived rapid point-of-care test that can
detect antibodies to both HIV-1 and HIV-2 in 20 minutes, using oral fluid,
finger-stick or venipuncture whole blood or plasma specimens. The product was
launched in October 2004.

"This award further validates the collaborative efforts of our research and
development, manufacturing, regulatory and quality groups, who were responsible
for bringing the OraQuick(R) ADVANCE Rapid HIV-1/2 Antibody Test to the market,"
said Douglas A. Michels, President and Chief Executive Officer of OraSure
Technologies. "The commitment and expertise of our team has been the driving
factor behind OraSure's history of innovation in the diagnostic industry."

Then in August, Michels dropped a bomb: He disclosed that OraSure's marquee
product, the OraQuick rapid HIV test, was performing poorly in a clinical trial.
The company's stock price plummeted to a low of $5.20 in trading on the Nasdaq
stock exchange.

But just a few days later, the U.S. government committed to its single biggest
order of OraQuick, which can detect the virus that causes AIDS in less than 20
minutes. The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration agreed to
a $4 million contract, including the purchase of 200,000 tests.

Finally, in September, Michels announced the problematic clinical trial was
found to be an isolated occurrence that would not stop the company from bringing
the latest version of the OraQuick test to market. The quarter ended as a
federal court judge agreed to hear the patent infringement lawsuit in February.

The closing pricing of OraSure stock on Tuesday afternoon, before the company
released its quarterly report, was $6.77, down 17 cents.

OraSure's wart removal products continued to be the company's biggest source of
revenue in the third quarter despite the alleged patent infringement. The
products, including the over-the-counter Freeze Off kit marketed under the
Compound W brand, accounted for $5.8 million in revenue, or 41 percent of the
total.

Es ist seit langem bekannt, dass sämtliche HIV-Rapid-Tests von Calypte HIV 1 UND 2 feststellen können !!! Dafür dass Du hier ohne Ende zum Thema Calypte postest, bist Du ja mächtig schlecht informiert über das Unternehmen und die Produkte !

der bluttest kann auch HIV-2 entdecken.

Du solltest zumindest zwischen den EIA-Labortests (z. B. Calypte HIV-1 Urine EIA) und der Rapid-Produktlinie, über die wir uns hier seit ÜBER EINEM JAHR unterhalten, unterscheiden können. Langsam wird mir so einiges zu Dir klar ...

schau dir mal die absatzzahlen an, da wird es wohl doch noch an einigen zulassungen fehlen, oder wie interpretierst du die umsatzerlöse von 361.000$ in q-3. schon eigenartig: je besser caly produkte werden, umso geringer werden die umsätze.

der urintest reicht als bestätigung gar nicht aus...man muß ihn mit anderen tests gemeinsam anwenden...

Ich dachte Du weißt das längst, worüber unterhalten wir uns hier eigentlich seit einem Jahr ? : Die Rapid-Tests sind noch nicht auf dem Markt. Auf die Einführung warten alle Calypte-Investierten. Deshalb können diese die Umsatzerlöse natürlich noch nicht beeinflußen.

Zur Bestätigung (nur im positiven HIV-Fall) eines Calypte-Rapid-Tests wird ein zweiter Calypte-Rapid-Test der anderen Linie verwendet. ZB Urine = positiv, dann zur Bestätigung Blood oder Oral. So ist das.

Aber wie gesagt, wurde gestern im CC alles genauestens erläutert.
Wenn Du nicht in der Lage bist, Dir diesen einfach mal anzuhören/ sehen, macht es keinen Sinn mit Dir über Calypte weiter zu diskutieren...

sogar "endsieg" deklarierst, ist mir relativ wurst.

wenn alle zulassungen da sind, warum ist er dann noch nicht auf dem markt??? du wirbst hier für den heissbegehrten urin-rapid-test, um den "kuchen" zu bekommen, dabei ist dieser noch gar nicht auf dem markt. aber der sollte eigentlich ja schon anfang 2004 kommen. jetzt kommt er halt etwas später...mal gucken, ob er wirklich kommt.

den CC höre ich mir nicht an, weil ich gesehen habe, dass er 1h dauert, dass ist mir dann doch zuviel des guten für eine aktie, die ich nicht habe und deren verlauf ich bisher richtig vorhergesagt habe.

fakt ist auch, dass der anti-cataldo-hype heute mal wieder sein ende gefunden hat...

So,so. Du kannst Dir also keine Stunde für den CC einplanen, "für eine Aktie die du nicht hast". Aber du kannst schon 365 Tage im Jahr 5 Stunden am Tag für eine Aktie die du nicht besitzt angebliche Fakten posten ... Du bist echt hammerhart.

zwischendurch mal schnell 2 min ein posting schreibe oder eine ganze stunde am stück opfern muss, da ich bei meinem job multitaskingmässig agiere, will ich mir dieh einfach nicht nehmen.

um es kurz zu machen: wenn etwas weltbewegendes passiert wäre, wäre schon eine news gekommen. ob und wie die test funktionieren und sich nennen, ist mir auch ziemlich schnuppe. was ich sehe, dass die gegenwärtigen angewendeten tests eben nur hiv-1 erkennen können. die rapid-test, in der theorie alles ganz toll, können beides, wenn sie denn dann endlich mal kommen. solange gibt caly weitere aktien aus und verwässert den kurs, was zu einem weiteren RS führen wird und zwar schon im jahr 2005. darauf darfst du mich festnageln...
