2 Orders for Web Inspection Systems From Poland
Better Paper Through Classification
Parsytec Expands Its Market Leadership In Eastern Europe
Aachen/ Germany - 9. September 2003. Parsytec AG - the world's leading supplier
of surface inspection systems for strip products such as steel and paper -
received an order for two of their HTP 4.2 Web Inspection Solutions from Arctic
Paper Kostrzyn (Poland). These orders from Poland have a strong signaling effect
for the Eastern Europe market, which faces a fast growing paper demand. Both
orders follow successful installations of Parsytec systems at other Eastern
European producers like Brigl&Bergmeister (Slovenia) and OP Papirna (Czech
Republic). They underline Parsytec's market leadership in this region.
Arctic Paper Kostrzyn is the largest manufacturer of offset papers in Poland and
the regional second largest manufacturer of graphical papers with an overall
paper output of 185,000 tons/year. The Parsytec inspection systems will be
installed at the PM1&2. The HTP 4.2 classification results allow for immediate
defect handling, defect avoidance, and continuous process optimization. Decisive
for Arctic Paper to choose Parsytec were Parsytec's excellent reference in the
Eastern Europe market. One example is Brigl&Bergmeister. With the Parsytec
inspection system at its mill in Lubljana, Slovenia, Brigl&Bergmeister produces
high-quality label paper by 90,000tons/year both for consumers in Eastern and
Western Europe.
Nearly 80% of worldwide newly built larger paper machines are relying on
Parsytec's unique defect classification technology successfully pioneered in the
strip steel market. Janez Gale, Manager Control Technology at Brigl&Bergmeister
PM5 says "Since introducing the Parsytec system, we have less scrap, and
managed to reduce web breaks by 30%. The handling of a grade-related defect
recognition and classification is crucial. We are able to quickly change the
system to a new grade." Poland and Czech Republic together account for 60% of
Eastern Europe's paper production. The Eastern Europe region has a fast growing
demand that today cannot be met by domestic mills. Therefore annual capacities
are continuously expanded. In this generally favorable economic environment,
Parsytec sees increasing market interest for web inspection systems, that now
initially materialized with the two Polish orders in the region's largest
market. The two web inspection systems for Arctic Paper Kostrzyn were sold via
the company's sales partner, Metso Automation, a leading supplier of automation
systems for the process industry.
Parsytec AG is headquartered in Aachen, Germany, and maintains subsidiaries in
all major economic areas of the world. The company is exclusively focused on web
inspection. Concentrating on the steel, paper, and aluminum industries, and
based on its technological leadership, Parsytec is the world's largest vendor of
web inspection systems by revenue.
