Belo Sun Provides Update on Volta Grande Gold Project

TORONTO, April 30, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Belo Sun Mining Corp. (“Belo Sun” or “Company”) (TSX: BSX, OTCQB: BSXGF) today announces an update on recent developments relating to its Volta Grande Gold Project (“Project”) located in Pará State, Brazil. The Company is pleased to report on the reissue of the Installation License (“LI”) for the Project.

Following the court-approved reinstatement of the Project’s Installation License in February 2026, the State Secretariat for Environment, Climate and Sustainability of Pará (“SEMAS”) has reissued the LI for the Project. The new LI (3698/2026) replaces the prior LI (2712/2017) and is valid until April 2029. The reissued LI maintains the same project scope, studies, and layout, and allows the Company to advance the Project.

As anticipated, the reissued LI includes updated conditions in line with current regulatory requirements. The Company has been engaged in ongoing and constructive dialogue with SEMAS to clarify the technical work that needs to be completed to satisfy the conditions. Belo Sun expects to publish a comprehensive project update by the end of the second quarter of 2026, outlining the next phase of work as the Project advances toward construction. The update is expected to include the anticipated timeline and key milestones for the updated Definitive Feasibility Study for the Project (“DFS”), which will reflect current market conditions, metal prices and the latest project planning work, together with the technical work required under the reissued LI and progress on the Company’s social and community development programs.

Belo Sun to Commence Technical Studies on Volta Grande Gold Project

TORONTO, May 12, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Belo Sun Mining Corp. (“Belo Sun” or “Company”) (TSX: BSX, OTCQB: BSXGF) today announces the commencement of technical studies relating to its Volta Grande Gold Project (“Project”) located in Pará State, Brazil, with the engagement of a mining consultant and the hiring of a Engineering Director.

Belo Sun has engaged G Mining Services Inc. (“GMS”), a leading international mining consultancy with extensive engineering and project execution experience in Pará and across Latin America, to conduct a comprehensive Technical Gap Analysis (“TGA”) of the Project. GMS will systematically review and update the technical studies associated with the Project’s Installation License. The objectives of the TGA are to identify improvement opportunities, define the scope and sequencing for updates to the Definitive Feasibility Study (“DFS”), and provide the Company with an executable project plan structured as a staged development program.

The Company expects GMS to complete the TGA in the third quarter of 2026. The TGA will set the stage for an updated DFS which will reflect the latest planning work as well as the current economic environment and metal prices. The Company is targeting the completion of the DFS update in early 2027. Construction will start as soon as possible thereafter.

(“Belo Sun” or the “Company”) (TSX: BSX, OTCQX: BSXGF) is pleased to provide an update regarding hearings held yesterday before the 6th Panel of the Federal Regional Court of the 1st Region (“TRF-1”) in relation to three judicial proceedings involving the Volta Grande Gold Project (the “Project”), located in Pará State, Brazil.

DPU Appeal Dismissed

One of the matters heard concerned the appeal filed by the Federal Public Defender’s Office (“DPU”) and an indigenous association against a lower court decision that had dismissed for procedural reasons a civil public action related to the alleged need for supplementation of the Indigenous Component Study (“ECI”) and the performance of additional public consultation procedures. The appeal was denied by the Court, which upheld the dismissal of the civil public action.

FUNAI Motion for Clarification – Judgment Postponed

Also scheduled for consideration was the continuation of the analysis of the motion for clarification filed by FUNAI concerning FUNAI’s subsequent change of position regarding the sufficiency of the ECI, in the context of a civil public action filed by the Federal Prosecutor’s Office (“MPF”). The judgment of the motion was postponed and is expected to continue in the Court’s next session.
