The IT company Compaq and IDS Scheer AG, Saarbrücken,
a leading IT service and software company for
business process management and electronic business,
signed a cooperative agreement today on SAP's
applications "Advanced Planner & Optimizer" (APO) and
"Business-to-Business Procurement" (BBP). IDS will
provide consulting and implementation of the software
components, and Compaq will be responsible for
designing the IT infrastructure. The goal of this
cooperation is to create a complete line of products
and services that is customized to the needs of the
corporate clients. With this partnership, Compaq will
build on its leading role as provider of complete
solutions, and IDS Scheer will contribute its many
years of experience in process management and in
logistics.
The starter kits from IDS Scheer and Compaq give the
client a complete preconfigured NT system including
hardware and application software. They are based on
a workshop lasting several days, at which experts
from IDS Scheer and Compaq work together with each of
the clients to determine their company-specific
requirements. Clients then receive a system
environment exactly customized to their needs, a
testing environment for the APO evaluation in the APO
starter kit, and a license for 15 users in the BBP
starter kit. This tailor-made solution can save
companies both time and money in implementing SAP's
R/3 New Dimension APO and BBP components. SAP APO and
BBP place great technical demands on the hardware
platform. With its high-end solutions specially
