HONG KONG -(Dow Jones)- Macau's gambling revenue jumped to a record high MOP12.7 billion (US$1.59 billion) in October from a year earlier, analysts said in several research reports published Wednesday, as an unusually long National Day holiday and China's solid economic recovery boosted gaming demand.
Gambling revenue rose 42% in October from a year earlier, and was 17.6% higher than September's MOP10.8 billion, the research reports said. The Macau government only publishes gaming data once every quarter, and it doesn't comment on monthly statistics reported by the press and analysts.
The National Day holiday, which started Thursday and ended Oct. 8, was the longest ever.
Citigroup analyst Anil Daswani said in a note that it continues to recommend buying Macau casino operators, underpinned by the continued recovery in gambling revenue and increasing visitor arrivals to the former Portuguese enclave, the only place in China where casino gambling is allowed.
Similarly JPMorgan analyst Billy Ng said in a note he believes gaming revenue will continue to be strong for the rest of this year due to a lower comparison base and further improvement in China's economy.
For October, SJM Holdings Ltd. (0880.HK) continued to have the biggest market share of 30.9% among the six casino operators, helped in part by the opening of a new casino in September, according to an analyst who was briefed on the monthly data.
SJM, which is controlled by Macau casino magnate Stanley Ho, saw a 12.4% year- on-year rise in net gaming revenue to MOP3.89 billion.
Meanwhile, Las Vegas Sands' (LVS) net gaming revenue increased 41.4% to MOP3.05 billion, while its market share rose to 24.2% from 19.7%, according to the analyst, who declined to be named.
For Wynn Macau Ltd. (1128.HK), net gaming revenue rose 0.9%, though its market share dropped to 12.3% from 13.8%, the analyst said.

Millionäre lieben Singapur - Hongkong ist viel zu teuer

In Singapur leben Millionäre deutlich günstiger als in Hongkong. So wurde im Oktober ein Bungalow am Ocean Drive, einer von Bentleys und Ferraris gesäumten Nobelstraße, zum Preis von 30 Millionen Singapur-Dollar (15 Millionen Euro) verkauft. In Hongkong kostete eine um zwei Drittel kleinere Luxuswohnung im gleichen Monat etwa dreimal soviel.
An diesem Höhenunterschied wird sich auch in nächster Zeit nichts ändern, erwarten Immobilienmakler wie Savills Plc. Denn aufgrund eines Baubooms werden in Singapur in den nächsten drei Jahren rund neunmal so viele neue Apartments auf den Markt kommen als in der ehemaligen Kronkolonie. Auslöser für die Neubauprojekte sind die beiden neuen Kasinos in Singapur, von denen sich der Stadtstaat einen deutlichen Anstieg der Tourismuseinnahmen erhofft.
"In Hongkong treiben einige einzigartige Faktoren die Preise auf dem Ultra-Luxusmarkt an", erläutert Simon Smith, Leiter Analyse und Beratung bei Savills in Hongkong. "Vor allem sind es die Käufer vom chinesischen Festland, die sehr aggressiv auf den Markt kommen." Das hat Smith zufolge mit dazu beigetragen, dass die Immobilienpreise 2009 im oberen Preissegment in Singapur um lediglich vier Prozent anzogen, während es in Hongkong gleichzeitig um 45 Prozent aufwärts ging.
Nach wie vor kosten Luxus-Eigenheime in Singapur etwa 19 Prozent weniger als 2007, geht aus Zahlen von Goldman Sachs Group Inc. hervor. Selbst wenn sie in diesem Jahr wie von den Analysten erwartet 15 Prozent anziehen, hätten sie damit immer noch nicht ihren Höchststand von vor drei Jahren erreicht.
Hongkong hingegen hangelt sich längst wieder von Rekordmarke zu Rekordmarke. Colliers International Ltd. geht davon aus, dass die Luxuspreise auch hier um 15 Prozent anziehen werden.
Von den beiden Kasino-Anlagen, die Singapur baut, erhofft sich der Stadtstaat eine Verdreifachung der Einnahmen aus dem Tourismus bis 2015 auf 30 Milliarden S$. Die Komplexe sollen dabei helfen 17 Millionen Besucher anzulocken und beherbergen auch Hotels, Restaurants und andere Attraktionen. Ein Teil des 4,5 Milliarden S$ teuren Komplexes von Genting Singapore Plc wurde bereits im Januar eröffnet. Das zweite Kasino von Las Vegas Sands Corp. soll im April seine Tore öffnen.
Der Immobilienmakler Savills geht davon aus, dass in Singapur über die nächsten drei Jahre etwa 11.000 Eigentumswohnungen und Apartments im oberen Preisbereich auf den Markt kommen werden. Das entspricht etwa zwei Fünftel des aktuellen Angebots. In Hongkong dürften es lediglich 1260 Luxuswohnungen sein. Das hohe Angebot in Singapur "dürfte den Preisanstieg dämpfen", sagt Smith.
Die wichtigsten Kunden für die Luxus-Makler in Singapur kommen vor allem aus Indonesien und Malaysia. In letzter Zeit kamen jedoch auch wohlhabende Käufer aus Russland, Norwegen, Schweden und Österreich hinzu, erläutert Kemmy Tan, Leiterin internationale Immobilien beim Immobilienentwickler YTL Singapore Pte. Ihr Unternehmen baut derzeit 13 Villen in Sentosa Cove, in der Nähe des Genting-Kasinos.
Um die Immobilien besser an den Interessenten bringen zu können, hat Tan darauf bestanden, dass in den Aufzug hinunter zur Tiefgarage ein Rolls Royce Phantom passt, der stattliche 5,6 Meter lang ist.
"Die meisten Autos hier sind Bentleys, Lamborghinis und Ferraris", bestätigt Jason Yeo, der Geschäftsführer der Betreibergesellschaft Sentosa Cove Resort Management. "Aber natürlich gibt es hier auch normale Automarken, wie Mercedes und BMW."

Schau dir bitte einmal die Kursentwicklung der letzten Jahre an, dann siehst du wie viel Luft nach oben noch ist.
Las Vegas schwächelt noch etwas, Macao läuft gut und Singapore steht kurz vor der Eröffnung.
Das wird die Zahlen bei LVS deutlich verbessern und die Verschuldung wird zurückgeführt.
