("K&T") (www.nasd-law.com) is pursuing an individual securities arbitration claim seeking more than $11.1 million in damages against a major Wall Street brokerage firm on behalf of a high net worth investor who held a concentrated, margined position in WordCom (OTC Pink Sheets: WCOEQ MCWEQ MCIAV) stock. Because of the significant losses, the investor will opt out of the class action federal lawsuit pending in the Southern District of New York (Case # 02 Civ. 3288 DLC). das worlcom die bilanzen manipuliert hat ist klar,aber das operative geschäft laüft gut,worlcom hat mehr als 2,3 milliarden dollar cash.da nun das alle wissen,sind bis zum 20,feb.viele verhandlungen vor gericht von nöten und der ausgang ist bestimmt noch ungewiss,obwohl einige reorganisationspläne gebilligt sind.doch die anklagen gegen worldcom laufen noch und ich glaube worlcom macht es sich zu einfach.grossaktionäre bekommen 0,36 cent auf ein dollar,kleinaktionäre sollen leer ausgehen.ethik und moral spielen wieder eine rolle,nach den lügen der bosse in den letzten 7 jahren.daher kann es sein,dass einige mehr wissen,den die umsätze sprechen für sich,oder?

chapter 11,ist eine scheiss reglung,denn unter chapter 11 laufen die geschäfte,aber verbindlichkeiten müssen nicht bezahlt werden und werden einzeln vor gericht verhandelt.nach deutschen recht wären sie insolvent.worlcom ist aber ein riese mit ca.60000 angestellten,und die auf die strasse zu schmeissen,weil einige bosse den hals nicht voll bekommen,wäre genauso falsch.

Habe jetzt ein dreiviertel Jahr keine Aktien gehandelt weil ich einfach die Schnauze voll hatte. Heute wecke ich mein Depot aus dem langen Winterschlaf auf und kaufe Worldcom einfach so aus Spaß weil ich Sie im Januar 2003 noch gehaßt habe als Sie noch 0,18 cent gekostet hat. Und Sie bringt mir am Nachmittag noch sagenhafte 20,69%, ist das Neueinsteigerglück? Ich hoffe das Jahr geht so weiter. Euch allen ein wirtschaftlich Gesundes neues Jahr.

U.S. extends telecommunications contract with MCI

WASHINGTON, Jan 9 (Reuters) - MCI (Other OTC:WCOEQ.PK - News) will provide another year of telecommunications services to several federal agencies under a contract worth hundreds of millions of dollars to the bankrupt company, the U.S. government said on Friday.

The government said it has extended the contract days after a suspension was lifted that barred the No. 2 U.S. long-distance telephone and data company from receiving federal contracts.

MCI, whose legal name is still WorldCom Inc., will provide telecommunications services to government agencies including the U.S. Departments of Defense, Commerce, Transportation and Health and Human Services.

It continued providing those services even after the emergence of an accounting scandal, the proportions of which have now reached about $11 billion. MCI earned $396.5 million from the contract during the last fiscal year.

Ashburn, Virginia-based MCI's "performance exceeded that required of it under the terms" of the contract, said the U.S. General Services Administration, which handles government procurement. "The company's pricing remained very attractive when compared with other similarly situated vendors."

MCI filed for bankruptcy protection in 2002 and hopes to emerge soon.

The GSA suspended the company in July from receiving new contracts and extensions while it reviewed whether a longer suspension was needed because MCI's lapses in ethics and internal controls.

On Wednesday, the procurement agency lifted the ban but only after MCI agreed to several conditions for monitoring its business ethics and internal controls over the next three years.

The company won the lucrative four-year contract in 1999 and the GSA extended the contract once before for a year.
