NEW YORK, Sept 20 (Reuters) - Internet professional services firm U.S. Interactive Inc. (NASDAQ NM:USIT) on Wednesday said its third-quarter financial results would fall short of expectations due to failure to keep pace with changes in its market, including diminished funding for its dot-com clients.
Philadelphia-based U.S. Interactive said in a statement that it now expects revenue for the quarter of $21 million to $23 million. That would be more than double the $9.9 million it recorded a year earlier but 22 to 29 percent below its second-quarter revenue of $29.5 million.
The company made no third-quarter earnings forecast. Wall Street analysts expect U.S. Interactive to report a loss of 3 cents per share, according to research firm First Call/Thomson Financial. The company reported a loss of 10 cents per share in the 1999 third quarter.
