Aqua Society Establishes Three Corporate Divisions: Refrigeration, Water and Energy
HERTEN, Germany--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 19, 2005--Aqua Society, Inc. (the "Company") (OTCBB:AQAS)(FWB:UP4A), at its press conference in Herten, Germany, announced that it plans to focus on the marketing and licensing of its processes, technology and plant engineering. At the same time, the Company's three divisions - water, HVAC&R and energy - are to be expanded in a targeted way.
The new strategy has been reinforced in personnel terms by a change at the top management levels of the Company. The Company's new CEO, Peter Lodestijn stated:
"The initial financing phase has, for the most part, been completed. In the future our main tasks, in addition to research and development in the fields of water and energy, will be the exploitation of our international contacts and the worldwide sale of our innovative products and processes. In particular, we believe that there is enormous market potential for our technology for energy optimization, which enables the previously unused resource of waste heat to be exploited as a source of energy. I see massive potential at Aqua Society for worldwide licensing operations. One significant area is that of obtaining drinking water from the air, but the fields where we see the best market opportunities worldwide are those of energy optimization and energy recovery. These have significantly enlarged our portfolio and provide the ideal preconditions for our entry to the regulated market which is our target for the next year. In the long term we regard Aqua Society as a global player in the fields of water and energy."
Peter Lodestijn, 51, has over 15 years of experience as a partner at a large law firm in the Netherlands, where he specialized in international licensing law and intellectual property rights.
ThermoMission: Optimization of refrigeration processes.
The Company's ThermoMission technology, which was originally designed for use in the German coal mining industry where the demands made on refrigeration processes are extremely high, significantly reduces plant energy requirements by innovatively combining existing components. In addition to coal mining, this technology can also be applied in tunnelling operations and in refrigerated warehousing.
In addition, the ThermoMobil is a flexible transport solution that can turn any transport van into a fully fledged refrigerated vehicle. The ThermoMobil consists of a cooling unit that can optionally operate on the 12 volt supply generated by the transport vehicle, or on 230 volts from the main domestic power supply.
AquaMission: Self-sufficient water supply as the solution to water shortages.
Over the past year one component of the AquaMission has attracted a great deal of interest and has been the focus of considerable media attention: the ability to obtain drinking water from the air. This forms an integral part of the AquaMission system, together with wash water treatment, water storage, filtration and mineralization.
The machine draws in and then cools large quantities of air. The liquid which is generated by the process of condensation is then collected, filtered and mineralized. At the right temperatures and humidity, a single machine can produce up to 5,000 litres of clean drinking water per day. Initial small prototypes are already in operation in the United Arab Emirates, where they provide air-conditioning for a production facility and at the same time supply the workers and their families with water.
EnergyMission: Electricity from waste heat exploits unused potential.
According to a current market study on unused waste heat in the temperature range of 80 degrees to 260 degrees C, in Germany alone there is technically exploitable waste heat potential amounting to approx. 85,000 megawatts (MW) of thermal energy. An expert study commissioned by the Company has confirmed that EnergyMission prototypes can convert low temperature heat into electricity at an efficiency factor of between 6 and 10%. This provides a potential of 5,000 to 8,500 MW of electrical power that can be generated by the EnergyMission technology.
In all industrial countries, waste heat in the low-temperature range represents a widely unused source of energy potential. In addition to waste heat sources from industrial processes and power stations, this process can also be applied for the exploitation of other heat sources to generate electricity, for example in the field of solar energy or heat from the ground. Worldwide, the targeted use of low-temperature heat for generating electricity could make a significant contribution to the conservation of fossil fuel resources and the reduction of CO2 emissions.
