Enron India Pwr Unit To Attend Lenders Mtg In Singapore
SINGAPORE -(Dow Jones)- Enron Corp.'s (ENE) Indian unit, Dabhol Power Co., said Tuesday it will attend talks in Singapore this week involving foreign and domestic creditors to its troubled power project in the western Indian state of Maharashtra.
Two consortia representing DPC's foreign and domestic lenders will meet Thursday and Friday to assess the future of DPC's 2,184-megawatt power project, Indian banking sources said Tuesday.
"We confirm being invited to the lender meetings scheduled for Singapore this week which we will attend," said DPC's Director of Corporate Communications Jimmy Mogal.
Earlier Tuesday, it was unclear whether DPC would be represented at the talks.
