Shonstrom Research Associates Releases Report Discussing Nanotechnology Industry - Defines Altair's Nanomaterial Sales Outlook
This release is from Shonstrom Research Associates which provides proprietary research to NASD firm PCS Securities, Inc. CRD # 23734
DENVER, Sept. 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Michael Shonstrom has released a report on Altair International (Nasdaq: ALTI - news) which includes a study on nanotechnology and the emerging nanomaterials industry. Nanotechnology has been identified as the next major area to be driven by the microprocessor/digital age. A nanometer is one billionth of a meter.
While biomedicine, electronics and computing will be significant beneficiaries of nanoscience, nanomaterials are the first commercial application. Using nanosized grains as building blocks new supermaterials can be formed that possess greater hardness and strength while exhibiting greater ductility and plasticity than materials formed by current processes; the active surface area of catalytic nanopowders is magnitudes greater than that for presently used powders; while nanomaterial processes could make solid oxide fuel cells practical.
Altair's proprietary material upgrading process has demonstrated in test the ability to produce commercial quantities of titanium dioxide nanocrystals at a significant cost savings over current production techniques. Bench testing has shown this process applicable to a number of other metal oxides. Commercial shipments are expected in Q4 2000.
Shonstrom Research Associates rates Altair's stock as a Speculative Buy with a 12 month price target of $9.
