Barrick's Archimedes Mine (the Ruby Hill Mine) is located 12 miles to the northwest and the recently discovered (11.8 grams per tonne gold over 20 metres) Staccato Gold Resources is located 8 miles to the west.
Silverado Mountain is composed mainly of Paleozoic sediments- limestone, dolomite and shale. A small outcrop of Cretaceous volcanics occur on the east side of the mountain. Mineralization appears to be controlled by a number of steep dipping, east to northeast striking faults and shears.
Reconnaissance mapping and detailed rock sampling has commenced on the Silverado property to identify alteration and gold-indicators associated with known altered zones associated with gold.
