STOCKHOLM, June 20 (Reuters) - Swedish telecoms equipment maker Ericsson was reported on Wednesday saying it hoped its mobile handset joint venture with Japan's Sony Corp would help it overtake industry leader Nokia.
"It's not just about being one of the three biggest. In this situation it would be foolish not to try to be number one," Ericsson Chief Executive Kurt Hellstrom said in an interview with Finanstidningen newspaper.
