China Communications Construction H1 net surges 154 pct on robust turnover

HONG KONG (XFN-ASIA) - China Communications Construction Co Ltd said its first-half to June net profit surged 154 pct year-on-year to 2.74 bln yuan as all four of its core business units turned in double-digit revenue growth.
It said overall revenue rose 24.33 pct year-on-year to 58.67 bln yuan from 47.19 bln.
The group's infrastructure construction unit generated first-half revenue of 39.26 bln yuan, up 36.1 pct year-on-year.
The value of new infrastructure construction contracts signed amounted to 71.13 bln yuan, a 68.1 pct increase year-on-year. As of end-June, the group's revenue from infrastructure construction business totaled 126.5 trln yuan.
Revenue generated by the infrastructure design unit was 2.84 bln yuan, up 20.1 pct year-on-year.
The group's dredging business, the third largest in the world in terms of capacity, generated revenue of 6.14 bln yuan, up 22.4 pct year-on-year.
China Communication's port machinery manufacturing unit posted revenue of some 10.21 bln yuan, up 12.9 pct year-on-year.
Earnings per share stood at 0.19 yuan, up from 0.10 a year earlier.
