US stock futures extend losses as Exxon fallsThu Apr 27, 2006 8:40 AM ET(Updates prices, adds Exxon Mobil results)
NEW YORK, April 27 (Reuters) - U.S. stock futures extended losses on Thursday after Exxon Mobil Corp.'s (XOM.N: Quote, Profile, Research) quarterly results missed analysts' forecasts on earnings and revenue.
Shares of Exxon, the world's largest publicly traded oil company, fell 1.9 percent to $61.90 before the opening bell on the Inet electronic brokerage network.
Also weighing on stock futures were China's decision to raise interest rates and testimony scheduled later on Thursday by Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke that could shed light on the U.S. interest rate outlook.
S&P 500 futures <SPc1> were down 5.50 points, well below fair value, a mathematical formula that evaluates pricing by taking into account interest rates, dividends and time to expiration on the contract.
Dow Jones industrial average futures <DJc1> were down 47 points and Nasdaq 100 futures <NDc1> were down 7.75 points.
