Tournigan Gold Corporation: Additional Gold
Intersections and Discoveries at Curraghinalt
VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(CCNMatthews - May 5, 2004) -
Tournigan Gold Corporation ("Tournigan") continues to intersect
high-grade gold mineralization during its in-fill drilling at the
Curraghinalt Project in Northern Ireland. The latest drill
results include the discovery of a new extension of a vein, as
well as the continuation of a vein beyond a shear zone. Also,
prospecting has uncovered high-grade veining believed to be
extensions to specific Curraghinalt gold veins that are 350
metres from the current resource zone. Finally, prospecting at
the Alwories discovery continues to add potential to this
extension. Together, these results provide substantial upside to
the gold resource at Curraghinalt.
Drill Results
These three drill holes form part of Tournigan's ongoing
feasibility infill drilling at Curraghinalt, designed to advance
the project towards a feasibility study and production. Delays
which slowed the completion of CT-17 have been resolved and
drilling continues at a normal pace. Results are summarized as
follows:

Drill Hole From - to Length Grams per tonne Vein

Note: Previous estimates of the resource at Curraghinalt have used a
6 g/t gold cut-off grade over a minimum mining width of 1.25 metres.
/T/
The "new" result from hole CT-15 on the 106-16 vein is an area
that was not included in the previous resource estimates at
Curraghinalt. Based on observations of the 106-16 vein in other
areas, there is potential for this new area to have zones of much
higher grade than reported here. This provides a target area for
further exploration within a 400 metre strike length that is
expected to add substantially to the resources. The results from
CT-17 are highly significant, for two reasons. First, the No 1
vein has been found beyond the Kiln Shear, confirming that the
Shear is not a boundary to the vein. This adds a high degree of
confidence to the concept that the veins will continue along
strike and to depth, as is consistent with mesothermal vein
deposits. This extension is also implied for the 106-16 vein.
Second, the No.1 Vein is increasing in both size and tenor of
gold mineralization as it projects towards the Kiln Shear. This
implies that an area of vein thickening and increased gold
content (an ore-shoot) is intact on the far side of the Kiln
Shear.
The last 4 holes of this phase of in-fill drilling are in
progress and will be completed shortly.
Prospecting Discovery at Attagh Burn
Areas where gold has been recovered from float samples have been
systematically targeted for follow-up exploration. The area
around the Attagh Burn (or stream) lies 350 metres to the west of
the main Curraghinalt resource area and has multiple occurrences
of high-grade gold in float samples. Recent prospecting has
uncovered 3 vein structures; significantly, two of these may be
extensions of the Road-cut and Sheep-dip veins that occur in the
Curraghinalt resource area. This is the strongest proof to date
of the potential to find additional resources along the
8-kilometre Curraghinalt Trend and adds confidence to the concept
of the Curraghinalt trend being a gold district. Detailed
follow-up will establish the continuity between these veins and
those in the resource block.
Further Prospecting at Alwories
Tournigan has now uncovered 30 metres of the original Alwories
vein which reaches 2.6 metres in width and averages 30-60
centimetres and have channel-sampled it at 2-metre intervals. A
second vein has also been discovered a further 10 metres away
across the quarry floor which also requires further follow up.
Trenching and sampling work on this discovery continues.
Tournigan Gold is focused on developing two advanced gold
projects in Europe - Curraghinalt in Northern Ireland and
Kremnica in Slovakia. Feasibility drilling at Curraghinalt is
nearing completion with feasibility work to be completed by the
end of 2004. Kremnica will be the focus of a substantial
exploration and development program in 2004, with feasibility
studies expected to be completed during the third quarter 2005.

Tournigan's Quality Assurance/Quality Control Program
Tournigan has implemented a Quality Assurance/Quality Control
(QA/QC) program as part of all geochemical sampling, sample
shipping and sample analysis procedures, for drilling, rock
sampling, and soil and stream sediment sampling programs. QA/QC
procedures include chain-of-custody protocol and systematic
submittal of blank samples and duplicate samples. Assays reported
by Tournigan represent a mix of provisional and final assays by
OMAC Laboratories in Ireland, as no significant variance has been
noted. The Qualified Person at Curraghinalt is Dr. Kent Ausburn -
see Tournigan's press release dated November 5, 2003 for further
