TEAM Entertainment's Newest Dramatic Series `Call of The Wild' To Premiere On Animal Planet As Special Two-Hour Movie Presentation
Family Action Series Based Upon Jack London's Classic Novel Launches Animal Planet's First Foray into Fictional Series
LOS ANGELES--(ENTERTAINMENT WIRE)--March 22, 2000-- Call of The Wild, a new action-adventure series based on Jack London's classic novel and produced by TEAM Entertainment, the production arm of TEAM Communications Group, Inc. (Nasdaq:TMTV - news; Neuer Markt:TME) in association with CineVu and Animal Planet, will premier as an Animal Planet two-hour world premier movie presentation on Friday, March 31, it was announced today by Drew S. Levin, TEAM Chairman of The Board and Chief Executive Officer. The movie, which will air as an 8:00pm (EST/PST) primetime event will launch the initial thirteen episode series prior to its move to its regular Monday night, 9:00pm (EST/PST) slot. Repeat telecasts will air on Saturdays at 8:00pm (EST/PST). TEAM International Distribution, the global sales arm of TEAM Communications Group, plans to debut the series at the upcoming MIP TV convention held in Cannes from April 10 through April 14.
Call of The Wild, which stars Nick Mancuso, begins with the story of ``Buck,'' a 140 pound Alaskan Husky stolen from his home in San Francisco to be used as a sled dog in the Yukon. While guiding Buck's inexperienced owners through dangerous and unpredictable terrain, fifteen-year-old Miles forms a special bond with the dog and eventually makes him an important member of the family.
The series follows ``Buck'' and his newly adopted Thornton family through the Yukon wilderness. Invoking adventure and drama that will capture the imaginations of young and old, the series will introduce the audience to new visitors passing through the town as they encounter the Thornton family, Buck and a host of other characters.
